My shoprider cobra loses speed when I am on top speed.

It slows down a lot every 5 sec. or so when I am going downhill, and less often uphill.

Is this an electronic problem?

Thanks a lot,

mz

Hi. Does the machine do this more soon after removing the machine off the charger? When a mobility scooter is going down hill, the controller feeds the voltage generated by the motor back into the batteries. When I an testing machines here at the workshop, I have seen cases where 10 to 12 amps is going back into the batteries on a down hill run. If the batteries are fully charged or unable to take much current, the controller slows the scooter right down to limit the higher voltage generated.
It might pay to check the battery leads and connectors as well, and get the batteries tested.
While you are driving along, try moving the speed lever slowly up and down, not in and out as you normally use it. Sometimes a faulty speed pot ( wig wag ) will cause the speed to change.
Good luck. Neil.

My 2004 Cadillac Seville's cruise control will keep good speed on level ground or uphill but going downhill there's no engine braking and will gain speed.

That is normal for that year models, I think. Earlier cruise control just maintains the engine RPM in relation to speed. It does not use auto braking to reduce downhill speeds. Best way is to get it scanned with diagnostic scanner that can reset or check error codes for cruise control.

Why is battery reading full power going down hill and on the flat but loses all power going up hill

hi Jennifer, well it to do with load,, ( in simple terms )the battery is under more stress when going uphill ,the controller is demanding more power to keep the speed up...everything is working harder to keep that speed up.. One trick is too simply slow down uphill to conserve battery power .... Going down hill there is no stress, only the motor slowing itself down , certain controllers can use this to recharge the batteries in a limited way ...commonly called regen

That is a real test to see how good your batteries really are ...

However please note : your batteries are only as good as your charger !!!!

2010 Nissan Pathfinder Cruise Control issues

First I'll assume you haven't read the owners Manuel, Cruise control is not perfect on any vehicle. if coming to a hill put foot on gas to help rpm, going down hill put foot on brake to keep same speed, cruise control operates off of engine vacuum. Speed sensors can be affected by putting on smaller or bigger tires than what is on drivers door.

Cruise control will not maitain the speed it is set on. going up a hill it gets slower and going down a hill it gets faster

My experience is that cruise control works on level roads, uphill you have to control speed yourself same for downhill. Exception is very powerful cars. Did it maintain speeds before? (uphill + downhill)

Losing power when I accelorate.

Fuel filter is the main culprit when you lose power going uphill. Going level or downhill means that the engine doesn't have to work all that hard and doesn't demand much fuel, so a partially clogged filter can usually flow enough to allow the car to run smoothly. Going uphill requires signficantly more fuel, and if the filter is clogged up, it won't be able to flow enough fuel. This will bog the car down and cause you to lose speed. Change your fuel filter.

My 2000 montero sport has little or no power when driving up hill

First thing I'd do is replace the fuel filter. If the car runs fine on level ground or downhill but struggles uphill, it's usually because a clogged filter isn't allowing enough fuel through to satisfy the engine's demand for enough to keep you at speed going uphill. Try that out - it's an inexpensive part and is usually the cause of your symptoms.

Shoprider deluxe te-889af loses power when reversing

I think that this is usual to have a slower reverse speed for safety. But on your shoprider you should have 4mph and 8mph ,usually if you are at 8mph it won`t reverse at that speed, you have to go to 4mph ,look infront of you there is a dial this controls the speed that you go forward and reverse. If reverse speed needs to be increased turn the dial up,but don`t forget this also increases forwards.
