when you turn on your computer do get to see anything on the screen before it goes blank? do you get to see any light on the power button or led on your machine that will indicate that it is turned on? do you feel if the fan at the back of the computer is working? do you get to hear a beep sound? do you get to see the keyboard led lights flash for a few seconds when you turn on the computer?

Press the 'Fn' and 'F5' simultaneously again to return the display priority to its previous setting. You may have to do this twice.

Worst case:
If the display still does not work you may like to try connected an external computer screen to the latop - this will tell you if the laptop is actually working just a broken display.

THE DISPAY IS NOT LOOKING HOW WE WANT IT TO

When troubleshooting these units, there are always several variables to consider. First check to see what last occurred with the unit such as did the children play video games, did the electricity go out due to bad weather. You may see that there are many possibilities but let's focus on what occurred last to the unit. Once we determine what happened last, we may isolate the actual cause of the problem. The actual cause may be associated with projection issues, older versions (Picture tube), interference from devices located nearby, and even a radio turned on and located really close to your unit. This is normally known as electromagnetic interference to electronics and is very common with the error you have provided today. Please continue to look for anything EXTERNAL to the unit before looking at the internal components. I have been working on these a long time so feel free to follow up with me. The display on the Dell SE198 dispays while it is searching for the input mode. It displays for aproximatelly 2-3 seconds while it confirms that it is recieving analog input. Afterwards the motitor "seems"...

Turn your computer off.
Turn your computer on, and immediately keep tapping the 'F8' key,
until you see a "boot-menu".

If you never see that menu, connect the monitor to a different computer, e.g., a laptop, and see if the monitor works at all.

When you see the boot-menu, select "Safe Mode".
Reset the video-resolution to 800-by-600, and restart.

Hp pavilion f1703 blue monitor power button flashesw/ dark screen

Have you tried connecting this monitor to another computer, even a laptop. This would tell you whether the display is bad or the video card is the culprit. I suspect the monitor's power supply is dying. Taking it to a pro for repair should cost @55.00. Buying a new monitor @ $100 - $125.

ASUS en7600GT flashing screen.

i did not understand if the problem is in the exact moment of the driver installation or after. so i will post for both questions.
case 1: the display turn on/off when the driver is installed and you did not try it after the installation: in this case there is no need to worry because after installing the drivers it almost always happens that you get that effect. it happens because while installing the driver the installation is changing allot of the default display parameters and settings resulting in short flickers of the screen it should work perfectly normal after you restart your system.
case 2: in this case the display continues to flicker even after you restarted the computer after the driver installation in which case i would recommend installing the latest driver from the nvidia website [ http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us ]out dated drivers may conflict with more modern day software or even some updates to the other software on the computer.
good luck.

Try using a different graphics card or make sure that you even have one installed in your computer. If no display is present on boot up, then your graphics card might be corrupt.
