    Hi Mate,

I have been down the "removing cmos battery" path already, I have documentation that this model and all subsequent models now have inbuilt security and the removal of the battery is to no avail, Toshiba has a Security Access Key which they slug you mega bucks for or alternatively I have seen someone make a dongle from the plug of a printer but I need to know which wires to connect to which wires, you use this to short out the memory, I could not get that info of YouTube, any ideas?

forgot the BIOS password and need to reset it, but I can't.

Not sure if I have a cmos block as I couldn't get it to power on so I just set it on the floor and used other computer. 1 hour later I looked and saw the puter desktop showing. I used for about one hour then shut down, now it won"t power up however the power light is on. Could this be hard drive problem.

Hi,
if this is a bios password lockout, you can try removing the CMOS Battery, for a couple of minutes to reset to factory default.
or using a password finding utility.
I have a CD that can do this, providing your DVD Drive will boot first.

    Hi,

i can supply you with a fixdisk, if it,ll help.

If your in the UK, it,s £5 for the Disk plus P&P.

i can,t guarantee it,ll work, but it,s full of usefull utilities and has password finders et,c on there too.

also have you tried swapping the hard-drive with another ?

    Mike @ Compurepair.

Can,t help you with the jumper idea unfortunately.

sounds slightly dangerous, if the wrong pin gets shorted out.

    Regards mike @ compurepair.

BIOS passwords in modern portables require a master password to bypass/reset if the original password is lost forgotten. You will need to contact Toshiba Tech Support and if the system is not under current warranty that will probably require payment to resolve.

How i can remove Bios password from Toshiba

There is NO way that it can be fixed OTHER than returning it to the manufacturers or agent. They have proprietory Software Challenge Codes and this will do the job. However they cahrge for this usually around $125. Also one must provide proof of purchace and ownership. You can also find places online too, however they also cost.

Cant get pass bio screen on satellite m105-s3084 toshiba

The Toshiba BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery won't work. There is a hardware hack solution (a dongle) to remove the password.

Buy a 25 pin male D Sub connector and join the following pins together by soldering wires to these pins. Make sure the wires do not short against each other. The pins are numbered on the connector.

1-5-10,
2-11,
3-17,
4-12,
6-16,
7-13,
8-14,
9-15

Plug the dongle into the printer port of your laptop and power up the laptop. Press F2 function key to get into the BIOS and then remove the password. Your laptop should boot up without the password and you can remove the dongle.
