Viewsonic N3250W won't power on

A local 911 Dispatch center has three of these LCD TV's. They all had Manufacture date of July 2005 on them Three of four have all gone down with no power up problem. Found capacitors bad on all three, able to fix first two with after market better caps. This last unit has burnt-up power supply and can't get any support from Viewsonic fort repairs. Unable to reach anyone last two weeks. Heard they moved from NC to CA and things are back logged. Never deal with Viewsonic products again. Hello, I have the very same tv. It is also dated July 2005. A week ago, for no apparent reason, it just would not power up. I took tehe back cover off and checked the power supply and fuse, both good. see that you managed to replace the capacitor on acouple of them and it solved the problem. Could you tell me which type of capacitor I would need to get and if it is just a case of removing the old one (Is it the big blue one on the board on the left) and soldering in a new one. I am fairly competant with this type of procedure, I just need some reassurance that this might be the right way to go.
Thanks,
Vince

I called  Viewsonic and they said that they have to replace B-00005963. The cost of this part is 61.68 + tax and 250.00 to install it. Hope this helped you.

You need to first check weather the blue capacitor is blown up or not, sometimes it would have been in the verge of getting damaged. So to check weather it is good or not see weather the top of the capacitor is not bulged if it is a condesor type capacitor. And mind u that discharge if there is any stray voltage. Also i would suggest you to replace the near by resistors too. And remember u can check the capacitor only after removing it from the board.Waiting for your reply.

Remove the TV from the power for a few minutes, and then power on, then check the volume, effectively you have reset the set. If it still will not work, check the manual for any sleep settings etc, and work through the setup again for the channels. Now if none of that works, and it isn't a remote control issue? Then unfortunately you indeed have a problem with the set and it will need to be serviced. it will most likely be a microprocessor and ambient background noise sensor or the like, this will have to be replaced. To this end get a "Quote" from a certified repairer, and go from there?

The Menu Screen blinks on and off while te TV is on.

Sounds like either three things are happening - 1 check your buttons on the tv and remote to make sure the menu button isnt stuck or doesnt have pressure on it to cause this 2 - your av card is bad or 3 your tv is possessed. :-) I'd check 1 and 2 first.

thanks,

My Viewsonic N3250w tv I have had for 4 years no longer powers up. If you hit the button it lights up around the switch but then almost immediately powers back down. Does this sound like a power supply...

Power supply module will be the first thing to check, look for bad caps, find out if it has standby 5vdc and other voltages.

Viewsonic N3250w. Power supply went out and I replaced the bad capacitors. TV worked for a week then now when I turn it on, the screen just turns on and off

Check to see if the 24vdc disappear when the screen black out, it is always there then you have problem in the backlight inverter board. Did you replace the caps in the 24vdc supply also? I replace the whole set.

Viewsonic N3250W won't power on

Got the same problem for a N3250. I'm not an electronic engineer and will attempt to fix my TV. Therefore I got the FSP2123F02 ($49.75)and now they have a harness 4WT0062302GP ($8.90) that will do a quick plug and play and will avoid any solder of the pins. That is my understanding can anyone corroborate this procedure. By the way I got both products from electronica-usa.com
I repaired it on June 28th with the lsit of parts above
More deatil information here (of the problem) http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/viewtopic.php?p=149367#149367
