Re: WASHES BUT WILL NOT SPIN
if it,s 7 years old. you,ve had your moneys worth. Scrap it and buy a new one.
as a repair solution, Check that the machine is emptying.
And that the pump has,nt got a coin/badge or anything else wedged in it.

It is not oil, but a build up of grease and living bacteria, caused by doing too many low temp washes.
The only permanent solution is to replace the door seal, and at least once a month, do a hot boil wash without clothes in, but with powder or detergent in as normal.
This is called a maintenance wash, and is now recommended by all manufactuers.

Eight years is getting kind of old. When the clutch or transmission goes out, it costs more to replace the part than to buy a new washing machine. You'd better plan a shopping trip rather than spring for that $100.
If your washer pumped out the water then your motor and water pump are both still working. Your washer has many sets seals and bearings that could have gone bad. This problem happened to my washer in the past also and i was able to just spin the drum around a few times and then shut the lid on the spin cycle. It started spinning slow but was able to make speed quickly. The oil seal on the gear case did start leaking though. This should be a cheap fix that could be done by most people with some mechanical ability.
Hi there you can order the part from indesit and should not cost alot and yes it should withstand the temp check that if you are using the hot tap to the machine turn down the water thermostat as maybe too hot.
this sounds like a syphoning problem this means the outlet /drain pipe at the back of the machine has been pushed to far into the drain upstand pipe causing the water to syphon straight through the machine make sure that the drain pipe is only part way down the drain pipe, hope this works for you
