Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a 3 year old phillips 60PP9202 t.v. that has red lines at the top of the screen and at the bottom a double image of the picture in red. The red and the blue converge are lined up as well as the multpoint blue. The red multipoint is okay across the middle of the screen but the top row and bottom 2 rows will not correctly line up. It shows separate red and green crosses that are slightly at an angle to each other. My husband turned the red "bulb" off and the image cleared. Can you tell me what may need to be replaced and where and how to locate it.
Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
Here is a quick test....
Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.
Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.
You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.
If you can't move them in all directions your Phillips rear projection tv model #60pp9202/17f - 2c07611.png chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

I had same problem, i opened up the back of tv. then i turned on the cable guide. i saw three lines blue, red, and green. under the lamp there is two washer type things with bumps. i turned them, i noticed that they moved the lines on the screen in a circular motion. after fiddling with the thing for a while, i finally got all the lines on top of each other. this made picture alot better, then i went to the little box that controls color adjustments, i made the colors to my liking and then i went to the lamps, i loosened the wing nut and turned the lamps and focussed the picture more. after this i closed up the tv, and went to my menu, and set my color convergence there. the tv pic is simply awsome, and high def channels make me feel like im there. i saved 390.00 doing this, i wasnt going to pay to repair it, cause i got it for free, and original intention was to make a place for my kids to have puppet shows in. hope this helps. lar.

Convergence problems! If the mechanical set-up and electronic adjusts aren't cutting it, you may very well have to replace one or more devices on the red conv board, including but not limited to, the conv IC....accordianman
