You will be glad to know, this is not your printer's fault. We went round and round with dell support when we first got 150 dell 1600n's. We sent in copies of documents that were causing the problem. Finally, they figured it out for us. Embedded in the document was junk that was telling the printer to pull from tray2. All you have to do to fix the problem, is take the word document, go into file, page setup. on paper tab, select default tray for first page, default tray for all other pages, and apply to whole document. to clear the message, you will have to delete the print job from the queue, and turn off the printer, then turn back on, and you should be set. The message add paper, is really what the printer should be telling you, except that it should add to tray2, so you know it is trying to pull paper from the manual sheetfeed port on the front.(you could add paper there, till the document finishes printing, but our docs are hundreds of pages, so that is not practical. Check that paper tray is fully open.
Check microswitch for paper tray.
Remove 1/2 of the paper - I ran into a similar issue with other brands before.

I have an officejet 5610 all-in-one inkjet printer. There is an ornage exclamation mark next to the setup between the pound sign and the setup button that keeps blinking. How do I get it to quit. I...

The Exclamation mark is an Attention: error indicator. There is a problem that you need to fix. You need to fix the problem. Was there is any message on the LCD screen when you started having the error?

Press Cancel and try printing again since you apparently cleared the LCD message. The problem could be a paper jam, no paper in the paper tray (or the printer can't pick up the paper), an ink issue or something else.

Please add a comment with the error message for additional support. I need more information to tell you what steps are most likely to solve your problem.

I have a Oki C5500 and I have paper loaded in the printer but it is saying Load letter paper and press online button. But it still does not work.

unless you do alot of prinring Try seting your computer to pull from MP tray. Also check to see if tray is fully inserted in printer to hit paper triger. Sometimes I insert the trat quick and hard and that may solve the problem.

I am getting error message ' Load Tray 1, 024-910, Printer' but there is paper inside. Once we open tray and close, error message dissapears. Regards Melane

Make sure that after you add paper, that you tell the printer the right size paper. Chances are you accidently changed the paper size and the printer is letting you know that the "wrong" paper is in the tray. If you are using standard printer paper, be sure to change the paper settings back to "Letter"

Paper tray

You're not providing much in the way of information here...all copiers have a sensor for each paper tray that signals the copier they have paper available to perform the necessary function. The sensor(s) could just be dirty and need to be cleaned. Check the paper tray to make sure the paper is loaded correctly, meaning if the tray has a bottom that lifts up as the paper is used, kind of like a spring mechanism, the sensor in question could be located there.
If my answer doesn't provide enough detail for you, please add a comment with the make and model number of the sopier, which paper tray is having the problem and whether or not other paper trays are acting up; also please post how long this problem has been occurring and whether or not the copier is "new" (less than six months old) or not.

Error message says"out of paper" when paper tray is fully loaded

check and make sure that the paper is in near the rollers enough that it senses the paper and picks it up. try lightly pushing the paper down toward the rollers as it is suppose to pull one sheet through the feeder. hopefully, you didnt pull too hard on getting the 'jammed' paper out that it may have caused a misalignment in the feeder. try assisting the paper, that usually fixes it. hope this helps!

Error message on 4050n printer "manually feed hp tough letter"

What error message is on the display?

To solve one common problem, try this: Take out the paper tray. Slide the blue fence at the back away from the paper (toward the back of the tray) then slide it back to the correct position for the size of the paper. Replace the paper tray and see if the error message still appears.

HP LaserJet 2430dtn - "Tray 2 open or empty"

1-Is the paper set correctly in the tray? if you have Letter paper in it make sure the guides are snug against it

2-Check the lever inside the tray, remove the tray and look at the tires there should be a lever that you ca move freely that is the paper sensor

Once remove both the trays and insert them again and if the problem persists, power cycle and semi-full reset the all-in-one.
