Try restarting the D-Link modem and if that doesn't work that means you have it hooked up wrong in that case you're going to have to call Tech Support for D-Link or you Internet provider. Hope this helped =)

My router continually drops the wireless signal

You need to configure the wireless card in your devices with the router's wireless settings so they can connect to the wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

I can establish a connection with a LAN cable and access the internet but the wireless light is showing a orange color and not putting out a wireless signal. It has worked fine for the last couple months....

The wired connection is working.

You are not able to go online when it is wireless.

Check if the computer is connected to the wireless network ?

If it is not connected to the wireless network then you will need to connect to the wireless network.
you can also check the wireless settings of the router.

Try resetting your wireless router first, then make sure that the network you are connecting to is yours and not another nearby wireless signal (I live in an area that's polluted with wireless signals and sometimes a neighbor's signal will be stronger than mine, so it will try to connect to theirs). If that doesn't work then go to your Network and Sharing Center and choose the setup a network connection option. You'll have to manually enter your info again but it should work fine.

D-Link DI-524 works with desktop, but laptop can't get signal

Try opening internet explorer and typing in http://192.168.0.1 in the address box
If this doesn't work try http://192.168.1.1

For the username and password put admin for username and leave the password blank

Now look for an option for the Wireless Settings and change the channel from usually channel 11 to channel 4 your laptop may now see it. Otherwise try another, channels available in the uk are 1-12, I think it's 1 to 11 in USA

need more information - do you have cable? DSL? Are you able to connect when you put the Ethernet cable directly into your computer and bypass the wireless router? The wireless signal is only indicating that your router is "broadcasting," but does not mean you have a usable Internet connection.
