I am trying to connect online to Madden 08, PS2 Slim. First, I go to Game Modes > Play Online. When trying to advance from the EA Nation page, I am knocked back to the memory card screen.
I am given, "No valid EA login found on memory card..." I have the option to Go to Account Setup or Back. Whatever I choose, I am sent back to the screen where you can go copy and delete items from the memory card.
I am using a DSL Broadband router with a Belkin 4 port/wireless router and there are two other computers currently functioning fine. The PS is wired to the router, and I can see the light "on" on the router.
When I ran the online startup disc, I had connectivity. When I try to play though, the (Network configuration) account is not valid. Please help. Thanks for your help.
i am also trying to connect to play online with madden 08. i have established a network connection, and when i try to authenticate the DNAS data, it comes up and says network error (-612) there was no response from the DNS server. any help?

check all the cables make sure you have everything in check or top shape this shouldnt be a problem though check the correct internet connection everything. Everything. or check to see if you have the correct cable if so then you can get a new one though you probably wouldnt want to spend money
Am I missing something? Is the psp2 portable slim able to get internet games using a wireless router, or do I have to hook it up to the PC in order to get this feature? Keeps asking me to get a flash player wish I have done. trying to go to miniclip.com and play pool.
yeah, that happens on mine sometimes. IT happens on both the ps2 regular and my madden 07 for psp. I thin it's probably just trying to do too much at once, and slows down because the processor isn't powerful enough.
There should be a setup disk that came with the network adapter.
Put that in, and it's a simple walk-through.
If you don't have it, then Madden 08 has an automatic connection sequence, just go online with it, and it should do it all for you.
If you have a cable connection (Cable Broadband), then its going to DHCP connection (or automatic) If it's DSL, then you may have a static IP address, and you may want to contact your ISP for further help. You would need to manually assign an IP address to your PS2.
If you have it set up correctly, and its a cable modem you've got, then you may want to reboot everything.
Unplug power to the modem and router and also make sure the PS2 is off.
Plug modem back in, then router, and turn PS2 and try connecting agian.
Erase all madden data from your memory card including network configuration and download the latest rosters and try again. The error happens when the rosters (between the two people playing) dont match and you try to connect online. Download the rosters and dont mess with them! This worked for me and i was getting a buzzing sound every time i tried to connect to a game online, i even went out and rented a another copy of the game, so definately a memory card problem.
I experienced the same problem. I have the ps2 slim. The problem was so bad that i had the slim for about 3 years and still could not play any ea games online. About 2 months ago i finally got it to work though, allowing me to play madden ncaa and many other sports games from ea. I also have dsl broadband just like you. I do not have a router though. I just hooked my ethernet cord straight into the back on the ps2, my computer is really close by. I would reccomend a router though.
Enough of this bs though. Now solving the problem. There was actually a firewall keeping me from connecting to ea servers. Which in turn meant no ea account and no ea play online. Go onto your computer and turn your FIREWALLS OFF. This still may not work though. I done this and an unknown firewall was still blocking it. THERE WAS A FIREWALL IN MY MODEM.
CALL UP YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PEOPLE AND TELL THEM TO TAKE THE ******* THING OFF SO U CAN ******* PLAY. I ALSO FOUND THAT LIMEWIRE WOULD NOW WORK ON MY COMPUTER AS WELL.
By doing this you will open peer to peer connections with other programs and players online.
