Question about Waring WMK300 Professional Belgian Waffle Maker

1 Answer

Heating element We got our Waring Pro waffle maker for Christmas and were very excited to use it, since we had not had homemade waffles for a few years. We used it twice and then one the third use, we made all but the last waffle, so I turned it back on and I waited and waited for the green light to come on. I finally checked and it wasn't even warm. I unplugged and turned it off, tried another outlet, still no heating up. Until it stopped heating we were very impressed by the performance of the appliance and the quality of its appearance.

I personnally just went through this.

If it is less than one year old, and you have the receipt, go to the waring site, and look up the nearest dealer for repair and bring it to them. They should be able to contact waring for you and get you a replacement.

My replacement had a silver body virsus the original black body. The shop told me they have yet had a customer repeat of this problem.

It won't heat up

Throw this piece of **** in the trash. My first clue that it was a piece of **** was when I saw that it was made in China. I used my Waring Pro Model # WMK 300 a total of 6 times and then it died. From what I am gathering on the Internet this is a very common problem with the Belgium Waffle Iron. When it worked it was incrediable but use it 6 times and it goes belly up, this is so ridiculous. I personally think they should take this Waffle Iron off of the Market. I finally found the parts list for this Waffle Iron it did show the replacement Heating Element, but they have made it unavailable because they feel it is unsafe for the consumer replace it they feel you are to stupid to replace the Heating Element without harming yourself, give me a break this is a very simple fix for the average homeowner to take care of. I realize there are lidiots out there who might not be mechanically inclinded enought to to this. I think the average handy man can do this without any problem what so ever.

The waffle iron won't heat up.

Hello kor..... Check the outlet that you are plugging this item into. These draw alot of power so you may have kicked a circuit breaker or blown a fuse. IF that is not the problem, then the heating element in the waffle iron is probably bad and needs to be replaced. Since it is a waring, fo to searspartsdirect.com

Enter the model number and you will see the parts diagrams and be able to order parts. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Will not heat.

There is a thermal fuse inside the bottom half of the unit, enclosed in a white insulating sleeve. This appears to be the weak part of the circuit. A replacement can be found here on Amazon.com.

Had same issue, found a looks like diode on the black wire leading to the heating elements. It is open circuited.Needs replacing. It is not a diode...maybe a voltage circuit protection device. It is crimped into the black wire under the sleeve clamped down near the handle.Going to radio shack to get a idea, replacement.

How do I season my Waring pro Waffle Maker?

Teflon coating does not to be seasoning , but you will need to use a spray shorting like PAM before you make each waffle

Just spray the grids before each use with something like Pam, or put a thin coat of oil on them. I found it's better to spray before each waffle so it won't stick.
