Question about KitchenAid KWVU265YBA Kitchen Hood

1 Answer

KitchenAid KWVU265YBA I would appreciate any help you may be able to give me. I have a KitchenAid KWVU265YBA exhaust vent and the problem I'm having is that the fan unit stoped working. The Light part works fine. On the fan when I press the #1 power button nothing happens. When I press the #2 button the LED indicator light next to that #2 button comes on and I can hear a "click" in the control panel. When I push the #1 speed button or the "Off" button it shuts it down. When the #2 button is ON (and the indicator button shows it's on and I press the #3 speed button I hear that "click" noise again and then the #2 & #3 indicator lights are on at the same time and when I press the the "Off" or the #1 button it shuts them "Off". What can you determine from this. I can be emailed direct if you need to at krsent@hotmail.com. Thank you for your help.

We have a Kenmore builin icrowave with exhaust hood over the range. The exhaust fan appears to recirculate the air into the kitchen and not sending it out. This causes the cooking smell to remain inside...

some fans have a charcoal filter that needs replacing others are supposed to be vented out side by the roof or out the wall to see if the vent is going outside you will have to unmount the unit tak it down and check and see if it is conected to a duct in the celing or through the wall hope this helps

The unit says it is ventless yet it talks about venting into the soffitt. We have no soffitt. Do we close off both opening and thenit will recirculate?

In order for a ventless exhaust fan to function it needs to have the exterior vent opening closed off and it should then recirculate the filtered air.

It sounds like two separate problems.

1. It sounds like your magnetron is overheating and then the thermostat trips, cutting the power until it turns off, then it closes to power it back up.

It's essential that the internal cooling fan (I don't mean the hood / vent / exhaust fan) is running to be sure the magnetron stays cool.

2. It also sounds like your vent / hood / exhaust thermostat is sticking or the triac on the circuit board is leaky, causing the vent fan to stay on.

But you may want to check the owner's manual. It is designed to stay on if the temperature of the stove top is above a certain level.

-.htmYou can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Noise of microwave exhaust fan

You can remove the exhaust turbine unit with one screw and reinstall microwave and buy a braun external exhaust unit that fits over the hole where it is at the roof or wall and all of the noise will be outside and it will actually work. It is weather proof and will **** steam or fumes out like the best vacuum cleaner.

Fan runs continually

Could be. Cut off the power first. Remove the fan box cover and discover the switch location. If you have a continuity tester, you should be able to test the switch. Sometimes, they even jam with cooking grease. If in doubt, replace it.

Hotpoint microwave exhaustive fan combined unit - fan not working

Do you feel air flow? That's the key.

Most microwaves have the exhaust fan assembly at the back edge, not up front immediately behind the grille / vent.

Post back if you can give us more detail or have other questions.
