Question about Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I tried EVERYTHING. I'm almost giving up! Unplugging the printer for a week, checking for paper jams, removed and inserted the ink cartridges, but no solution. My printer keeps flashing an E,3 message, but there's NO paper jam. What's going on? I'm getting very frustrated.
just recently had these problems
LED flashing E3 code and alarm light was solid. But dissapeared when opened the coved and came back on when closed the cover.
Also the when the cover was open the inks did not slide out to the left and stayed to the right side.
There was no paper jam, but error said paper jam.
1. I took a thick piece of paper, from like a paper folder ones, thick enough to go in the printer and not curl up when pushed..
2. turned off the printer and turned it back on.
3, while printer was turning on,and makings sound as it does normally when turning on, I pushed through the piece of paper and the rotors stoped for a millisecond.
4.the rotors started again and pushed out the paper by it self with out my force.
5. I let the printer get started. and then turned it off and then on.
6. this solved all of my problems.
this was the first problem ever with this printer in 3 years.,preety good printer.

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Yesterday someone replied to my problem, i tried it this morning and its fixed 1st time.
Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving PUSH it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now

Thanks ! Just saved 90 Euro for reparation !
I pushed a tick piece of paper (cover of a magazine) into the printer when it started printing and a little piece of plastic came out of the printer... I don't know what it is, but the printer prints normally now !!!
THANK YOU !!!!

I FORCED a piece of very thick A4 card through, thinking this would just kid the printer into thinking i'd fixed a jam that was never really there. out popped a small piece of wicker basket that had snapped off a nearby basket! oops! all works fine now!

I had this problem and had to send it back to Canon. The repairman found what he said were "popcorn kernels and insect remains" inside the printer. He said, "These things are notorious for jamming." Then I was charged $60. I wish I had never purchased this printer; I've had nothing but trouble with it.
