Gaggia Syncrony does not get past the grind cycle

I need you help please. I have a Gaggia Syncrony compact that will not get past the grind cycle. It did do enough grinding a couple of times and continued to make espresso but eventually the red light #28 comes on steady indicating the coffee bean container is empty but it is in fact full. All web troubleshooting tips were fruitless. I changed coffee bean type three times to a non grease kind and totally (trust me) cleaned out the grinder more than half a dozen times.
I have taken the machine apart and as best as I can tell the grinder is not pushing the grounds enough. It is a 2003 machine I bought second hand. Could it be the grinding burrs need replacement? I say that because not enough grounds had fallen in the hopper every time but the chute was full of ground coffee and the grinder was also.
I am at wits end trying to figure this out but would like to fix the machine. Please help.

I have the same problem - it's not water in the bean hopper, though I have stripped it down and cleaned/dried everything just to be sure. It does seem to grind the beans since if I lift the 'flap' that covers where the ground coffee drops in to the hopper, there is ground coffee there. Is it still possible it's the conical burr grinders? Thanks in advance for any advice!

You hit it on the money, Jose... the grinding burrs, called the conical burr set in the manual, needs replacing. You can find it at partsguru for around $42, and armed with a standard phillips head, a larger precision phillips head, and a #10 Torx head set of screwdrivers, you can replace them yourself, saving over $300 in repair bills.

Email me for the step-by-step if you want to give it a shot.

Water has probably been spilt in the beans area. The grinder needs cleaning out along with the chute

I have a gaggia syncrony compact. Everything works well, except the coffee doesn't come out the proper outlet. Intead, the grinds and all the liquid goes into the waste compartment.

Your thumbscrew is stripped. If you remove the brew unit and push down on the thumbscrew your filter screen should have a gap in it. You need a new thumbscrew. Don't use the key to tighten it. That is why they call it a thumbscrew. Finger tight.

I have a Gaggia syncrony compact coffee machine and the coffee grinder has jammed for the second time. The repair agent employed by Gaggia inform me that they have been waiting for spare parts from Gaggia...

If the grinder jammed it might have been because the grind was too fine, try adjusting coarser then using the + or - lever to add more coffee for proper extraction. To clear jam remove brew unit and locate door to grinder chamber on left, vac out grounds, also beans in hopper. When clean run grinder and set to coarser, then add small amount of beans and test.

I have a Gaggia Digital Syncrony. The machine

Hi
You could have a micro switch in the doser that is going bad and needs to be replaced. They are a special micro switch that is very sensitive and can get stuck with a little coffee dust inside the switch.

Coffee is not strong enough?

Hi
There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the small one to the + then back up 1 click. Turn the large knob to a smaller number, but only when it is grinding. The grind should look like coarse granulated sugar. It takes 3 cycles for the grind to take effect.
