    Hi,

it,s usually the temprature dial, if it,s a chest freezer will be on the bottom. usually lit display and round dial.

If it,s a fridge-freezer, will be inside the door, numbered dial 1 to 6 or 1 to 10.

turn it either left or right, if you get a click, it,s working.

if not it,s the thermostat not shutting down.

    good-luck buddy.

    Mike.

Hi,

Check the air vents. If you're having trouble achieving the right temperature, even after numerous adjustments, make sure the vents on the inside of the fridge aren't covered. This can prevent air flow, making it impossible to cool the refrigerator.

let me know if this worked.

Goodluck..

Here are few points which will help you solve the problem:

    1. Make sure the cord is plugged in and that the breaker hasn't tripped.
    2.
Check the settings on the temperature control if the fridge is too warm
or too cold. This is the dial that's usually located at the top front
or right rear of the refrigerator.
    3. Note the ambient temperature
of the kitchen. If the fridge seems to be running for a long time, it
may be that the room is just warm. If that's not the case, make sure
the door isn't being left open and that the door gasket is sealing.
    4. Vacuum the coils under the fridge. Dust may be keeping them from cooling properly.
    5. Be sure that the appliance is at least 4 inches from the wall to ensure enough circulation to the coils on the back.
    6.
Notice if the light comes on, but the motor doesn't run. The
temperature control may be turned off. If the control is properly set,
you may have a bad thermostat.
    7. Change the switch if the bulb is
staying on when the door is shut. You can check this by pressing the
button located along the hinged side of the door. The light should go
    off when you press it.
    8. Listen for unusual noises. Are the
shelves rattling? You may need to tighten the supports on the back
wall. Items on the shelves may also be the cause of the sound, such as
    glass bottles clattering together.
    9. Remove the base grill. Is the defrost pan the culprit? Make sure it's on its tracks and that the felt pads are in place.
    10.
Check the condenser fan under the fridge. Sometimes paper stuck in it
makes a racket. If there is something there, be sure to disconnect the
power before you attempt to remove it.

Let me know if this was helpful.
    Goodluck..

Ge freezer temp changes from -3 to 44degs and the ice melts and runs on the floor. I replaced the main board about 2 yrs ago, help?

Self defrost mechanism appears to be ok sinc eyou can get down to -3 degrees. The culprit in this refrigerator is the temperature regulator or electronic thermostat in this box. It should not allow the temp to swing that drastically from one extreme to another.

Compressor runs, very little cooling, internal fan not running

You will need to unplug refrigerator and open plane inside freezer to see if fan is stuck or burned out. If freezer is frozen over with ice you will need to warm the ice for removal. Let me know, when you are ready, Sea Breeze

Hi! There,,,If you want help, one needs to explain the problem.. A refrig is quite simple in opertion, with time used experience. For a side by side the freezer is cooled with the same system as the refrigerator cooling system. One and only. Freezer works, do you mean it is provining design temperature of some -10 deg F??? Do you have a by-pass duct between the the two. yes, then open it up more, disconnect motor is auto, and prop vent open, set refrig temp to a low temp say 40 deg F. are we cooling??? Post your condition, if you want further info Regards,,,fmauka
