Hi,
check your graphics cards settings in the bios.
set to AGP/IDE as appropriate.
use another monitor if necessary.
Also check the graphics card i.e on-board or PCI/AGP Cards functioning correctly.

My emachine desktop tower will not power on

the sound you are hearing or heard could have been power surging through a powersupply unit that just blew.. hopfully it did not effect any of the other hardware..to trouble shoot this you can do one of two things..1 disconnect the 20/24 pin powerconnector from the motherboard 2 disconnect the cpu power connector 3 disconnect the 6pin power connector from the graphics card if there is one some machines have onboard video chipsets if thats the case then no worries 4 disconnect the Harddrive power 5 jump the power supply to see if you get any power from it any questions on that go to youtube and type in how to jump a power supply... or option 2 is buy a new power supply make sure its 80plus certified and replace it...i know its a lot of work but i hope this has helped you

BenQ always display nonpreset mode

This has to do with the computers display resolution.

In other words you have to set the display resolution in the system properties to match the one of the monitor e.g.; on a 17" monitor you can set the resolution to 1280x1024 (this value is usually found with the LCD user manual or by doing a search online about the LCD model number) in the display properties.

If you switch on your computer and it gives this error straight away without any display what so ever (no system information nothing) then make sure VGA cable is correctly connected.and if possible try to connect screen to another computer to make sure it is not faulty.

Good Luck

I have a Dell desktop running Windows Vista. I cannot boot up to Windows. I have a black screen with cursor error message saying: boot device available, ta 0 installed, ta 1 installed, ta 2 none, ta 3...

That message says that the hard disk was found but nothing on it can be used - Vista is completely corrupted. You will have to reinstall it using the recovery cd that came with it when you bought it.

Hello sir, i hav LG CRT 15" monitor. After turning on, its LED continuous blinks and power button does not work and displays nothing. so plz suggest me what should be deffect?

Any 15-inch CRT-style monitor should be replaced by a 15-inch or 17-inch LCD-style monitor. You can find "previously-owned" monitors for $30 to $50, which is less than taking your CRT monitor to a TV/video repair-shop for an *attempt* to get it repaired.

Hooked up a monitor and im not getting any picture. i just purchased the computer second hand today. i tried a second working monitor and still no pic. any ideas?..

Assuming that your monitors are good, if nothing is shown on the monitor, that means it does not receive any signal from the computer (or CPU). When you bought it, did they show you the computer and monitor are in good working condition (that means Windows desk top screen comes up on the monitor if it is a PC). If everything was OK when they showed you, but when you took it home, it does not any more, then maybe something became loose while transportation.

Make sure that when you turn the computer on, you hear the fan on the power supply and inside the computer running, and there should be some lights in front of the computer . If you do not hear anything nor see any lights in front of the computer then that is the reason nothing comes up on monitor. If it is the case, you may want to remove the cover of the computer and physically inspect inside the computer to see if anything becomes loose while transportation.

Just some ideas for you to work on. Good luck!

I can't adjust the horizonal on my 17'' kogi to fit my screen

You may have case of bad solder joints developing in the monitor's horizontal circuit. Many parts get pretty hot and this can lead to connections failing over time. Or some part may have failed and is causing the problem. If you or someone you know has the skills to do electronic soldering, you could check the solder joints and repair any that look questionable. Otherwise, you'd be better off replacing the monitor. It's difficult today to find a service shop that will attempt a monitor repair (lack of service information and parts availability problems), and the labor cost will be high if you do find one. New LCD monitors are quite inexpensive now, especially if you shop online.

Dell E510 LCD. On/Off switch ? faulty

you can find monitors like yours on e-bay being sold for parts. the monitor is a Dell E173FP Flat panel monitor. Plug this into the e-bay search engine and search for the lowest price one that will have the parts you need. You should have your friend help you with this. The switch should be on a switchboard. This is usually combination switching unit with more functions on the same board. You can buy one of the units and replace the board. You can also look at the switch board and find the part number. With the model and part number you can try to find it on the web. Use google and put in the monitor brand name, model number and the switchboard part number and see if you can find the part for sale by a parts distributor. You can also try to get help from Dell parts with the same information. I hope this helps you with your problem.

EMachine monitor quit

This could be one of three components:
1. The video card
2. Video Cable (cable from the monitor to the computer)
3. The Monitor

The way I would determine this is:

I would try to plug this monitor into another computer that you know works with other monitor. If this is a home computer and you don't have another computer to test this take it to a friends house. Use a different cable to connect the to computer and power if possible. Then switch out to the old hardware (e.g. power cable, video cable.) If all has been determined to work then it's probably the video card.

If you can do this at all I would suggest trying a new video cable they are cheap. Usually 10 bucks at the most or borrow on from someone else. If this is a DVI cable they are a little more expensive. VGA cables look like this btw http://www.networktechinc.com/cable-pc.html
