Hi,
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

I have a Frigidaire upright freezer it runs but only blowing hot air. Is there a reset button

Freezers expel warm air. There should be no 'blowing' inside. If it is expelling warm air, then it is working fine, eventually the expelled air should get cooler and cooler.

Viking professional defrost cycles

Check the rubber seal inside/around the door. I bet you have a tear or piece of seal that isn't making a solid fit and it's allowing (warm) room air into you freezer. This moist room air will either turn to water droplets and builds up to enough droplets to form puddles in the bottom of the freezer, or it freezes into a blob of ice around the door seal and this allows warm room air into the freezer. Otherwise you need an Appliance Tech to check the Freon refrigerant level. Most times its the door seal causing this problem.

Without the model number I'm not sure how to answer your question. Does your model have fans that blow warm air on the outside bottom or a front kick plate? What is your model number? Kenmore has model numbers like this example=> 123.3214567 If the fan has a restriction that causes a lack of airflow it can cause the hot Freon liquid that normally flows around the Yoder Loop inside edges of the freezer door to prevent frost buildup to become very hot because the condenser fan is defective or coils are dirty with dust restricting airflow. If the outside is hot you may have a defective condenser fan motor. That will cause the freezer to ger hot. I am here should you want my assistance....Sea Breeze

My Kenmore 9 upright freezer feels warm on the outside, what could be the cause. I have defrosted and cleaned it already and seems to work fine. however i am concerned with the outside temperature. Please...

Hi,

This is normal. The condenser coils on freezers are typically located in the walls.

The refrigerator in your kitchen has condenser coils that are hot either under the frig or on the back. Freezers do not need as much heat transfer on the coils with the air so they put them in the walls, it is called a warm wall condenser. It may even feel hot to the touch if you happen to feel it near the end of a cooling cycle. It will be the warmest close to the compressor and cool off at it makes it around the cabinet down to the other side.

The kenmore 20 frostless deep freezer is cold in the lower section of the freezer but the upper half is warm the setting is maxed out. the air that is blowing across the coil appears to be warm. that leads...

The evaporator coil must be lightly frosted from the top to bottom. This proves that all of the r-134a freon is still present in the system. If you visiblely see that it is not (half frosted the other half warm?no frost) then this is a sign that the r-134a freon has leaked out. Another way to determine for sure is to use refrigeration gauges to check the pressure.

let me know what you found then we can take it from there... hope this was helpful

Frigidaire frostlfree upright freezer ice forming top interior door

Not sealing. warm air hitting cold air causing frost. also, door frame heater may not be working. most frames are "warm" to the touch. normally called an "anti sweat" heater.

GE Upright Freezer problem/door

The door seal is damaged or the hindge alignment have allowed the warm air to enter and the cold air to leak out the of the freezer. Look and feel around the door for the cold air and check the top and bottom hinges to make sure they haven't become loose. Look for tears also around the seal because this will do the same thing. Let me know what you find. JT
