Spontaneous program changes

Doesn't respond to remote. When I turn on manually, it scrolls among TV, Video 1, 2, 3, 4 and Initial Sony Setup Screen. I've unplugged cable box and TV and plugged back in. Changed batteries in remote.

Exact same problem. It switches channels automatically and cannot stay on the video extension without switching back to tv. Also the Remote just went out and is completely useless, unless I do certain combinations of pressing the actual TV controls and the remote control at the same time.

Any help is surely appreciated. I read something about a bad Tack board caused by cleaning solution or moisture seeping onto it from the screen?

The 'Initial Sony Setup Screen' keeps showing up spontaneously on top of what I'm watching, and the remote doesn't work at all. Putting fresh batteries in the remote did not resolve this. I also tried pushing CH+ to let the tv go through it's initial setup routine, but that did not resolve anything.

I tried turning the tv off manually for about 2 minutes and since I have turned it back on, I haven't seen the 'initial sony setup screen' for now (4 minutes), but the remote still does not work at all.

the initial set up flashes on and off every 15-30 seconds, following the Ch+ buttons doesn't help. I tried unplugging the cable from the wall and restarting the tv.

The remote on my Sony FD TRINITRON WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV does also not work and all of the controls including the menu buttons in the panel do the same thing. Switch the video inputs like the tv/video button is supposed to do.

Initial setup screen pops up at random times. The

The ability to control volume is often lost do to dirt or wear internal to the remote control. If that's the case then I would try a new remote. I universal one will give you the capacity to control volume, on/off and channel change. Try one of those (you need to program it for your individual model) and if that controls the volume you should replace your remote.

Concerning the spontaneous activation of your on screen display is also possibly coming from the remote. Put the remote in cardboard box or anything non translucent and see if that stops the problem. If it does stop it's the remote. If not your set will have to be seen by a professional electronics technician that hopefully is familiar with TV circuitry.

Menu Screen pops up, try to exit and goes to video 1

This could be a stuck button on the front control panel or a bad solder connection on one of the switches on the front control panel.

Initial setup

This is commonly caused by the CRT going too weak, and the AKG circuits are switching off the bias to the CRT. This is part of the high voltage regulation protection.

Other causes, but are rare to cause this, are failures in the bias circuits, high voltage regulation (flyback assembly), and in the scan amplifiers.

With proper experience, reference to the service manual, and the proper set-up, it is possible to determine the causes of the failure, and service it. The cost of the parts will be rather expensive if you can still have access to them.

Sony KV-27FS100 does not respond to remote

Good day.

Maybe there are loose connections along the IC that supports the operation of your remote. This could also hamper initial set up operation of your unit. Also, check on loose connections along the power supply.

Sony KV-27FS100L -

This is due to switches malfuction due to corrosion in switch and dust accumulated in the switch. Since you rarely used switch now after failure of remote of remote control you tried to operate the switch. Another thing you said did"t get picture, maybe memory problem is there. This can be sorted out by the technician only.
