Question about Dishwashers
My dishwasher will not start even though the door is closed and the lights come on. Can someone help me?
Good day to you... my name is Dean
Are you able to program or change any functional features press other cycles...? If not, try un-plugging the dishwasher (usually location is under sink) if not find which breaker in the electrical panel will and open circut. Some dishwashers have a "lock" feature purposely to prevent children from toying with panel. You would need to provide more info for us on that one. Brand and model number would help. Sometimes, Electronic control panels can become statically charge, so by shutting down the electricity supplied to the unit for about 2 mins. and then restoring power, can be a simple solution. Let's hope so anyway, because it can get a lot more complicated, if not, and that's not supposed to be the way a Monday's supposed to start the week off, for anyone..

At this point about the only suggestion would be that either the latch switches in the door are defective or the electronic control board would need to be replaced. Sometimes the (what we would call the ribbon) the connection where the touch pad and control meet, that may not be making good contact (but that's rare) at this point, unless you have had some type of prior experience, it would probably be best to contact a repair person.. my apologies for not getting back sooner, I was in the field yesterday, was a long day.

Error CL appears when the dishwasher control
detects door switch is open or door is open. You'll have to open the door and
check the continuity of the door switch. If the door seems to be closed then it
is the control has detected an issue with the door latch. Check the door latch
& seals to make sure door is closing fine. Unplug the dishwasher from power
outlet and wait for 10-15 minutes. Restart the dishwasher and check if the
error is still there. If error still appears then you'll need to repalce the door
switch/door latch. Hope this helps... Please post back for further assistance.
