Hi,
You may need to uninstall and reinstall the software as per below procedure.
UNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE:
- Unplug the USB cable. {caution - Do not reconnect the cable untill the onscreen prompt to connect while reinstalling}
- Click Start > Control Panel and double click "Add or Remove programs".
- In the list of installed programs, Click HP products and click "Remove".
- Follow the onscreen instructions to remove the software.
- After its done, restart the computer.
REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE:
- After restart, insert the Software CD and follow the instruction to install.
- At, one particular step you will be prompted to connect the USB Cable; turn the printer ON and then connect it.
- Allow the installation to continue and then restart the computer and try scanning.
