The relay for the fuel pump is in the engine compartment, you can try to remove it and put it back in,while the key is in the run position.if you hear the pump working try turn ignition off and on untill you develop fuel pressure.

Hi, sounds like it's loading up. Recommend you check the fuel pressure regulator for a torn diaphram. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r7427423-fix_poor_idle_high_idle_stalling_fuel . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info

My 95 tahoe starts but dont stay on. Fuel wont stay pumping from tbi. Just swapped a motor from 80's camaro. Was running real good in box chevy perfect. Now fuel wont stay flowing out of injectors. Already...

did you install the oil pressure switch origional to the tahoe? The tahoe uses a low oil pressure shutdown, instead of an inertia switch to shut off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. If the pressure circuit does not close within 3 seconds after the engine starts the fuel pump shuts off. This is in case the truck is on its side or upside down the pump will shut off.

88 Firebird Power Failure

Buy a ECU from a local salvage and swap them out. It might just work. If not then you might have a short somewhere in the system causing it to shut down.

Sputters and dies no power when happening

there is a idle adjusment screw, jus under the air filter.. check that, also check your spark plugs and wires to make sure all are firing and lastly i would look into the timing of it since its the hardest to do..

I have a 95 f150 that has been sitting for atleast 2 years. the problem i'm having is that niether one of the fuel pumps are working. i have always heard the pumps priming for a couple of seconds and now...

sitting in fuel for two years could have clogged both of them yes. go to the fuel pump electrical connector and measure voltage while someone turns on the key, it will only power for about 3-8 seconds, did you get voltage? if so then I would say the pumps are clogged. if not then check the fuses and relay. Yes you can apply 12 volts of power directly to the pump at the positive terminal, also ground it, but I would be hesitant due to the possibliity of sparks.

Location of fuel pump

yes the fuel pump is in the gas tank but before you change it checkout the fuel pump relay and fuses first there should be a fuel pump relay in the fuse box under the hood and also checkout all of the fuses under dash on the driver side it could even be the fuse to you sending unit
