If I enter a channel number above 47 into my remote it does nothing, just goes to 47.

I have no idea the model number. I'm a college student and was given this set which has been sitting around for nearly 20 years. I'm also having that problem with the vertical output and hope to get that fixed tomorrow. The channel limit isn't 47. I pressed and held "Auto" which is on the TV and it went through all the channels it can get without snowy-ness and it went up to the 60s but then when I type 60 into the remote it still stays at 47. Same thing if I use the channel button on the set. I will look at the set a bit more and try to find a model number or anything I can.

If the tv is capable try to directly enter a channel with a remote you should receive the channel if it is snow or garbled pix ,sound you probably have a bad tuner ( band switching ) If you know anything about electronics you can remove the tuner send it Tip Top tuners. Good luck!

Auto-program only works if the tuner is good and the sets bandwidth can go that high older sets were not able to go above that. Your set goes back to 47 because that is probably its limit. What is the model# I will check for you

Can not get tv to reach channels from 2 to 70

Sounds like you need a set-top box from the cable company.  You hook that up to your TV, tune the TV to Channel 3 or 4, and use the set-top box to tune in all the channels.

I am trying to get channels above 13. I do not

Try bringing up the menu by holding both volume buttons down at the same time (or use menu button on remote if you have it). Go into CH SET using the channel and volume buttons on the front of set (or use the SET + and - and the ENTER buttons on remote). Go to the TV CATV line and move the arrow to CATV. Let menu time out. This will put tv into cable mode. Hope this helps.

CHANNEL 47 AND UP ARE BLURRY AND NO VOICE

Try it again in the original room where the TV once was. If the channels from 47 and up are back to normal, its a cable signal issue that the cable company must resolve. Its possible that the installer may have driven a staple thru the coaxial cable or did not correctly attach the fittings.

There is a button under the bottom edge of the screen (with the controls) that has the options "Normal" and "CATV" - press this and it should solve your problem.

Just fixed ours with the same problem. You need to hit the volume buttons on the remote during the time the screen goes black but BEFORE it gives you the "Connect cables" message. It should trick the TV into giving you a blank channel.

Sanyo TVs are made notoriously cheap, and have little glitches like this. Best of luck, space cowboy.

No channels above 47

That works great except I can get the tuner to program any channels above channel47. Is this a limitation of this older model TV yes there is limitation in old tv. is there some setting I can change in order to get more channels using the tv tuner? in INDIA what we do is put a remote control ckt which gives us about 250 channels. of course we replace tuner also called hyper tuner along with remote ckt or replace whole kit which are cheaply available.& serves the purpose. hope this will help

Are you using cable to get the picture? If you are, make sure the TV set is in the cable mode,If it is then you most likely have a bad tuner in your set. Good Luck
