The colors doesn't look will, it look pale

You should always include brand name and model number when asking for help since the menu can be drastically different between sets.
Most later TVs give you the adjustments via the setup screens and most all contain adjustment points that allow you to change color depth, focus (soft or sharp) and brightness. Not knowing anything about your set, you will have find the menu for these on your own.

Hi, I'm having the same type of problem with my tv. It has the 3d look to the screen but it also has a large wavy red line through the top of the screen. Would this also be the result of the convergence...

All projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video or dead set) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. In some cases the TV will also not show any video. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D, wavy, or has a shadow or shadows
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Rainbow screen aiwa tv,, screen shows different colors like rainbow// brushing a magnet infront of the screen fixes the issue temporary

Picture tube is magnetized. Manual degausing is required. already you have done this.

Since you say it is reappearing, you have to check the following.

1. Relocate the TV or relocate if you have placed any tower speakers
or home theater speakers close-by.

2. Check whether auto degauss functioning OK. In the MENU
check whether you switched off auto degauss option. If it is OFF
enable it to ON.

3. Finally re orient the direction of your TV and watch the rainbow
effect. Switch OFF TV, wait for 20 mts, and again switch ON.
Repeat the process. It should disappear.

Magnetic toys or any other devises using magnet will cause this problem.

This problem is normally resolved by degaussing your monitor?.
This option is found normally on the control panel buttons of the monitor. Just press the menu option and look for the Degauss option.
You should have the option someplace on the monitor controls.
It will disperse any magnetic build-up that has taken place on your monitor over time.
Also check for any electronic items if they are placed too close to your monitor as the magnetic field from other items might be the reason for the same.

This definately is hardware issue.
2 options for you.
1. open the screen and check if the signal cable to lose. if you can out it in right place you can fix this onyour own.( I would recommend this only if you have prior experience in troubleshooting laptop hardware)

2. otherwise see the hardware vendor.
