I finally got my oven to work properly by shutting off the breaker and resetting the main clock. Cured the always locked problem as well as the beep twice when self cleaning.

Have to repeat this every few months since the problem seems to come back.

PG 9 of the manual says to unlock the control panel for both oven doors and fix your problem, press and hold upper oven cancel and cook and hold for 3 seconds. It will double beep, then unlock doors. Hope this helps.

F5E1 or FSE1 error code DOOR LOCKED LATCH NOT OPERATING

On this double oven, each door has it's own latch mechanism that consists of a motor, a position switch, and the door switch used to activate the cavity lights. Because the error indicated a latch failure (and the bottom door was locked), Start by cycling the power to the unit. Each time the power is removed and then applied to these ovens, both latches will lock then unlock the doors to ensure they are in the home open position. By doing so, you might be able to get the bottom oven door opened allowing me access to the latch assembly. With the latch removed, I try to begin a clean cycle so you could watch the motor operate and you will probably find that it will start to turn, but never would rotate enough to lock the door. Since the position switch was not actuated at the end of the motor operation, the F5 E1 error was again displayed. Replace the motor assembly

I have a double oven electric whirlpool oven and turned self cleaning on and by mistake as it was loking i opened the door and cannot turn on its showing locked the opens and i can not turn on oven

Hi, Door locked flashing after the attempt of the cleaning cycle. After taking the oven appart to get the door open, I began troubleshooting. I discovered that the door lock motor failed in the locked position. I opened up the motor and found the magnet inside was cracked! The coil winding for the motor was also open. Hope that helps! While your waiting on the new part you can trick the oven by using a zip tie on each of the two lock motor micro switches to hold them closed and remove the lock lever. The oven will work just fine.
bye

Oven sef clean latch locked but door is open and I cannot clos it. I inadvertantly urned it to self clean and openedthe door and the latch is locked in self clean position. How do I release the latch so I...

Ok. Open the door and find the oven light switch(es) (some models had two switches). Press the switch(es) in and see if the latch goes back to the home position. If not enlist a volunteer to turn on the self clean cycle while you are holding the switch(es) in. Just after the self clean starts have them hit cancel and wait until the lock comes back to it's "home" or unlocked position.
Good luck!!

Oven door locked - jenn air

My Jenn-Air double oven locked after a clean cycle. My model (JJW8630) has a series of slots cut in the top of the door. Take a piece of stiff wire, coat hanger, and bend a right angle about 1/2 inch at the end, feed the wire into the 3rd or 4th slot from the center on the right hand side. Turn the wire so that the bent piece is on the top and push the wire so it engages the lever which latches the door shut, it is spring loaded and moves easily.

Once the door was opened, I removed the temperature sensor, held by 2 screws, from the top of the oven and eased the wire out to get to the connector. The faulty sensor was reading 4.2 k, at room temperature it should be just over 1k, while waiting for a new sensor to arrive I stuck in a 1k resistor, ex Radio Shack, so the fan stops running and the door latch can be retracted by closing the oven door, or press the switch on the top right of the door opening.

My replacement part was ordered on line for less than 1/2 the official quoted price.

Hope this helps.

JTP56 Self Cleaning issue

It sounds like you need to replace the door latch assembly. One of the switches on it is not working properly so the control is not getting the correct signal for the door latch position. It could be an oven control problem, but most likely it is the latch.
Post back with the complete model number from the oven if you need more help and I will answer as soon as I can.
Thanks, Mike

Oven won't lock and self clean.

Shut off the oven for at least a minute and turn it on, set the clock, and it worked. I had tried a short power cycle before and it didn't fix it. The extended power cycle did the trick.
