The disc will not eject and the wii says to insert a disc

Try holding down the eject button for at least 10 seconds after turning on the console. If that doesn't work (or you've already tried that). Try the following steps.

1. Unplug Wii from power outlet.
2. Plug in Wii again.
3. Press power button.
4. Press Eject button for at least 10 seconds.
5. If the disc doesn't eject try holding down the power button for 10 seconds and then the eject button again.

If that fails then either return the console to exchange for a new one or contact Nintendo consumer support. Info follows:

Nintendo Consumer Service Contact Information:
Telephone: 1-800-255-3700
Email webform: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform...

I wouldn't attempt to manually remove the disc (by trying to disassemble your Wii) as it may void your warranty. It could simply be a faulty console in which case Nintendo should replace it within 2 weeks (according to posts I've read). It seems to be a somewhat common problem.

If holding down the eject button doesn't work, there's really not much else you can do. Sometimes unplugging and replugging does the trick.

I've had problems with discs not ejecting and some combination of the steps I wrote above solved the problem.

It is possible that you inserted the disc incorrectly. That would account for the error message "Unable to read the disc" or "Disc could not be read." But it should've ejected on its own.

Before calling Nintendo Service you can also see if their Support site has any solutions. Try the link provided in the source.

Good luck.

My wii will not turn on. Even when we plug it in the light will not turn on... We have tried different plugs... the last time it was used was about 2 weeks ago and it was working fine than... it has not...

hi have you tried doing this
1 remove the mains lead from back of wii, and also unplug from mains leave both ends disconnected then leave it for at least 10 min then after this time plug both ends back in and give it a try, doing this resets the power brick and usually solves the problem.

let me know how you get on or if you still have the problem after trying this

make sure its not plugged into the wall socket and also the back of the wii you need to have both ends free so the power brick can reset itself ok

please rate this solution, thanks

Disc will not eject

Turn the Wii off and on again after about 20 seconds. Press the eject button again.

Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on.

Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds

Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out.

Call Nintendo and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty.

Nintendo says to see if power light was coming on, AC adapter reset. unplug from both ends for 90 seconds.Hold eject button for five or 10 seconds.

Can't get to the wii menu screen

Hi there, there are 2 simple things you could try,
1. Unplug Wii from power for an hour and then power up and try again 2. Resync Wiimote hold red button in the back of wiimote at the same time as you press the red button on your Wii (Under the from panel where the SD slot is).
Also one question. Has your Wii been softmodded at any stage?
Cheers j

My Wii Console will not turn on.

Short the DC end of the cable, ie;connect the two terminals with a paper clip, this will discharge the capisitors and reset the unit.

Nintendo wii not powering on and remote blinking

Just talked with Nintendo about this matter. Fortunately, the Wii has a safety feature on the AC adapter which shuts it down should there be any sort of significant "spike" or interruption with the power. The solution? Unplug the AC adapter for about 2 minutes (from the wall and the Wii unit itself), then plug everything back in! Believe it or not, this actually works!
