I have the same exact TV, with the same problem!
I found out that Zenith has a class action litigation open thru July 2010
Your Optic Light Engine is Defective and Zenith has to replace it for free
Or give you a new 50" Plasma or 44" LCD.

Call the service center and let them know what your problem is and that you know
about the litigation. They will have a tech call you and troubleshoot it over the phone.
Then they will order the Light Engine and have a Tech come to your house and
replace it. It will cost you nothing!!!

if its new idont know but if youve had it for a while buy a new projection lamp

Yes this one for the pro's call the company this is not something a most repair plumbers like to do...we would call the company they should know whats going on. If I was on the job thats what I would have to do, and then I would have them ship the parts to me. How old is it?

Go to the Zenith web site and find the link for Class Action lawsuit. LG/Zenith will pay for in home replacement of the light engine which may be your problem. There is an 800 number on the site to call.

Bad Light engine cost was 1900.00 sure it is cheaper now.call UED 1-800-648-6657 for replacement cost.

try holding the enter button on the tv and the mute button on the remote. a reset screen will pop up and then just press the center direction button twice.

IS the screen white retrace lines ? Have you looked into the CRT lenses while they are on with a signal applied through the input to see if an image is displayed in the lens lens of the crt? Let me know what the answer is to these two questions and we will go to the next level.
