Question about Lincoln 4000 Fresh-O-Matic Rice Cooker

Lincoln 4000 Fresh-O-Matic

We have to purchase these once a year because of leakage. The company that use to fix them now say that lincoln has made parts so expensive that you are better off buying new. I know very well about planned obsolesence but give me a break, two of these go to hell each year? We do use distilled water so it is not from minerals. Can anyone help me and explain how to fix? Thanks Tom

What other options do we have? We have 5 of them and have replaced and replaced parts and they just don't work as good anymore.

I have the same issues with mine. Today it sparked and sputtered. I think the water holding tank or somewhere along the line its leaking. We all know that water and electricity do not mix well.

Any service man that said it is easier and cheaper to buy a new one is seriously confused. A Fresh-O-Matic runs around $1,300.00 to $1,500.00, depending on where you get a price, and usual service calls on Fresh-O-Matics are around $150.00. I have loaners that are over 30 years old and they still work great and they use the same parts. I would recommend calling Lincoln Food Service 1-260-436-0735 or send them an e-mail at info@lincolnfp.com and see who the recommended service company is in your area.

Unplug the steamer when its hot, then pump it and you can see where it is leaking from, they will leak around the top of the tank if they are moved around alot, the biggest problem I have with them is the Valve spacers cracking, This causes them to pump weakly, Its an easy fix thought. If anybody has any they would like to get rid of that leak send me an email. bryantc@otelco.net

Darlene, the cooling system could now have air in it now, which may have to be bled out for cooling system to operate correctly, When you said it was leaking, ensure the leak was not internal to engine or you will have a lot bigger issue.

Do you change the spark plugs every 3 years

Clean MAF Sensor at least once a year

Change front Oxygen Sensors every 100,000 miles

Change oil every 4000 & not more than that & use
the correct oil, if you don't the cam actuators fail

I suspect you have multiple cylinder misfires

I suspect the exhaust converter is shot & blocked somewhat

You could have vacuum leaks anywhere on the truck
& egr or pcv system issues

I could keep going

Would appear you drive a fair amount
& don't work on it often or the shops
you go to don't do much
