If the audio is not distorted, but low. I would suggest a coupling capacitor from the audio processor to the audio output amp ic.

No volume on the cable tv setting?

Does the set have a earphone jack? if dirty or damaged it will cut the TV sound out---about the only other possible reason is a audio problem in the TV itself---if possible put ear up to speaker to see if any sound or buzz is heard.

BPL PSM ON problem

Picture Status Memory(PSM): Selects excellent preset picture controls for multi-media, personal, movies, sports, and weak signal programs. usually on remote control, or in TV setup.

You need to use your manual and turn it Off.

Display problem

if this is a portable tv or an older one your state might have gone to digital programming therefore you can only get canada stations only. but try your brightness/contrast controls and make sure they are not low.

Hi..

In this case i think the volume control is faulty already, so you need to replace the volume control.

I have just installed a GPX KCL8806DT, i cannot change the chanel or adjust the volume with the remote control....or even manually

I had the same problem. After running the channel scan off the menu keys,( which by the way didn't work the first time ) it did correct the problem, it also took several minutes to complete the scanning.
Hope this helps.

You'd need amplified speakers, like used for ipods and such, as the output on the headphone jack is a lower volume.

I would suggest to buy a contact cleaner and spray it inside the volume control to get rid of particles of dust that are creating the problem.

Did you try using the volume button *on* the TV rather than your remote control? If so, did it work? If it did work, then the problem is with your remote control and you should get a new one.
