Question about GE 29385GE1 Corded Phone
I was unable to answer this phone, either by speaker or by handset, until a week ago, when I realized there were batteries to be replaced.
Now with the new batteries, I've developed the same problem. Is this a problem with the phone, or with the batteries?
Can not speaker phone

New batteries does not mean GOOD BATTERY.
Did you test the replacements?
There are batteries that come with a tester in the package. A small sheet of paper with a color coded bar to tell you much like a pregancy test, if the battery is good, before you leave the store.
Never use a new battery after insertion without a full 12 or more hour charge from your phone charger. The batteries are good enough to draw dial tone when new but have been setting in that package for a long time and NEED the initial rebirth charge.
Hope this helps.
