My N3290 is running at 497 Mhz, has XP installed and runs reasonably well with 256MB. Only problem I've had is broken hinges which HP can't supply. No big surprise there with HP's lousy support.

Without the model number I can't be sure but I saw some sings that it might have a 400Mhz prosessor or around that range.

If you get the laptop working with 98 or 2000. I wouldnt recommend xp unless it has more than 128MB of ram. Im pretty sure it doesnt have that much.

So I would certanly stick to 98 or windows 2000. They both should fit and work much better than xp.

Unless you find the model number this is all the help I can offer :)

Forgot to say, If you get the laptop working with 98 or 2000 it would probably be worth 50 to 150 usd.

It's a fairly old system, that came installed with Windows 98. Considering it's 2008....yes I would say it's an old computer. That doesn't mean it won't work.
It will be hard to find adapters to work with that system since Microsoft discontinued Windows 98 a few years ago, and all the support for that OS.
You may want to make sure there is enough hard drive space, as well as RAM...and if you do have enough oomph, then format and install Windows XP Home or Pro.

HP Pavilion M7570N found in a storage unit sale, how old is this and is worth anything

Hi vollybill....
Your M7570N date is: 08-Jun-2006, that is when the machine was introduced.
It is a "Media Center" desktop, so it is a better desktop of its day. It also has a larger hard drive.
I will include a webpage so you can check out the specs on the computer..as far as price, it is anybodys guess to how much a five year old computer is worth...

You don't say what OS you are using but for Windows 10
Right click on the internet logo in the notification area
Select "Open network and internet settings"
Select "Wi-Fi" from list on the left
Ensure Wi-Fi is switched on and also check available networks.

Where is the wireless radio button on an old HP Pavillion 8705? I just installed a usb wireless adapter and now I'm running the Linksys Add a computer to your wireless network wizard, but the message tells...

On desktops, that's usually software controlled, not via a button.
nce you have the right software installed for the usb adapter for your operating system, there should be an icon in the system tray where you can activate the wireless feature.
I stress for your operating system because I had to get a new adapter once because i couldn't find vista or windows 7 drivers for my old adapter which I used with windows xp.

Don't know if this old fridge is worth saving.

Can't tell the age without the serial number, but it is a 21 cubic foot refrigerator. Plug it in, if it cools could be a good garage fridge.
