does the light blink more than once when you select the 'contol the reciever now' button? I assume you push a button to switch which device the remote will control, and then push another button to astually have the device do something
I just got mine to work with the STR-DE325. I programmed my Dish receiver remote following the reference in the back of the Dish receiver manual. I missed the comment at the beginning of the receiver codes at first which stated to enter a 2 before setting a tuner/amplifier code on aux. I then used the first code listed which was 683 and it works. So it was hold aux on the remote, wait until the aux was enabled by blinking, enter 2, enter 683 for the Dish remote and enter pound. E. If you consult the card that came with the remote, you will find several codes for "Sony". You will need to experiment with each code until you find one that will power the receiver on and off. Then you will have control of the receiver. If you don't have the card, then go to the web site and download a copy in PDF format from there. I have a lot of Sony stuff, and I have found that the codes varry according to the year the equipment was made and its function.
Must have a bad remote control then . Did something spill onto the remote near the power on button? Short of getting a new remote you could try poping thr remote control apart and cleaning it out with a mild detergent. Larry's Electronics
Could need a new ir sensor or repair solder connections on the display (ir) board. You can check that the remote is putting out a signal by viewing it with a camcorder, turn the camera on look through the viewfinder and point the remote at it push a button. If it is working you will see a flashing light on the remote.
