Question about Bose LifeStyle 50 System

1 Answer

Bose system (Lifestyle 50)

The music center does not communicate with the multi-room interface. It keeps flashing "NO RESPONSE". Everytime I plug the power in, the CD changer comes on but goes off in 3 seconds.

I left it unplugged for days and it still didn't make a difference.

  • fomuki123 Feb 24, 2008

The NO RESPONSE massage on the remote keeps flashing throughout the 3 seconds.

Hi,

Did you try leaving it unplugged for a few hours?

    I see.

So you say that as soon as you plug it in the power, the CD changer turns on and then turns off after 3 seconds? During these 3 seconds there is a NO RESPONSE error message? Did I understand you correctly?

My lifestyle 50 M1 interface is displaying "No response". I have tried all the standard reboot options but apparently I need to replace the capacitors. Can anyone tell me the values of these?

Terry,

I have had the same issue with LS50 for some time and stumble last night on the blog: https://blogteramod.wordpress.com/2015/05/18/lifestyle-50-no-response-quick-repair/

It is written in German though the detail worked perfectly for me this morning.
Bottom line is that they suggest you replace on the P1 unit 4 x caps (C9- 47uF 16V, C10-47uF 16V, C17-10uF 25V, C18-10uF 35V).
I did the work on my unit this morning and all is good - remote now connects immediately to P1 (as it did when new).

Hope that's useful.

Bose lifestyle one room doesn't connect and the remote says it won't connect to media center

Look in the instruction manual and make sure that you have set the codes correctly, the house code for the remote, as well as the room code for the second room. Also check the batteries in the remote control, especially when the room as far away from the main room, the batteries need to be full in order to reach the center. I assume we talk about a wired system? When this is a wireless connection to the second room, it may need a reset, unplug and re-plug the wireless adapter, there should be a pilot light in the back of the wireless adapter, which should be green. If that does not help, call Bose.

Remote shows no response

I have just had a major problem trying to get the handheld (touch screen) music centre to communicate with the multi room interface. It took over a week to sort out by trial and error, but here is the solution :
1. Disconnect everything from the multi room interface apart from Room A and the CD player (blue connector).
2. Turn off the electricity supply at the wall (turning off any in line extension lead is not good enough - it needs to be at the wall socket). Leave turned off for at least 2/3 hours.
3. Turn back on and then leave it again for 2/3 hours.
4. Touch the music centre and you should find that it has now registered with the interface unit.
5. Connect the other rooms and input sources with the power switched on (contrary to instruction manual which advises you connect everything before powering up).
6. Test each input systematically as you connect them.

Hope this helps. I was on the verge of buying another multi room interface (I have 2 music centres and neither worked so assumed in was the interface at fault), at a cost of £200, so now glad I persevered with resetting the system !

No sound ? Make sure the audio input cable is connected to the music center FIXED outputs, the black connector is fully seated in the music center SYSTEM CONTROL 1 jack, and the multi-pin connector is firmly seated in the Acoustimass module jack. ? Turn the music center off for ten seconds, then on again, to reestablish communication between the music center and the speakers. ? Check the connections for any external components. Make sure to select the correct source for the desired input. ? Check the speaker connections. ? Be sure the CD is placed correctly, label-side up, in the music center, and the cover is closed. ? Increase the volume. ? Check to see if MUTE is lit in the display. Press the MUTE button on the remote to unmute the sound. ? Disconnect any headphones. ? Connect the FM and AM antennas , and last but not least. Make sure there is power going to the remote speakers or the unit will not communicate with them. Good Luck
