I got a sony tv model kv-eg25m20 and it just went off and now it wont switch on again. No red light nothing. Please help.

Start with basic checks like plug fuse any damage to its mains cable mains socket or any adapters (some have fuses people forget about). Check remote batteries and remote hide it from TV (I have seen a sick remote fire signals unknown to anyone and cause shutdown)
Unplug for an hour turn off its power switch then try again,if all these ideas fail, you are into a service call out because there is possibly an internal fault which will require an engineer.
Sorry for limited ideas.....

Hello

There's some kind of circuit fault and it overheats,Sound like the power board on the tv need to be replaced. You can call or email the manufacturer and see what they say. Also get a cost estimate for the repair. It might not be cost effective in repairing the tv, due to the price of labor.

The ink pads are at the end if their service life.

Depending on what type of printer you have:

Procedure 1 We found this procedure to work for the Stylus Photo 1270 type printer, and understand that it also works for the 870 range and even earlier models like the Stylus Color 740. The error is indicated on these printers by all four lights on the printer flashing. Even if you press the power switch on the printer, the lights continue to flash, and the printer does not turn off!
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable, for at least 20 seconds;
  3. When you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer's power switch was 'on' - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds (i.e. then release the button);
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.
Procedure 2
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete it's processing, then turn off for a few seconds, and back on again for a newly working printer!
Procedure 3 - for 1290 and possibly 890 printers 1290 printer with green (power / data) and red (ink / paper feed) lights flashing alternately:
  1. Switch off printer with panel switch;
  2. Switch off printer at mains switch - leave off for 20+ seconds;
  3. Hold down roll feed and sheet feed buttons;
  4. Switch on at mains;
  5. Switch on at printer panel;
  6. Continue to hold down roll and sheet feed buttons until both green and red lights flash together in synchronisation, not alternately;
  7. Switch printer off and then, after a few seconds, on again at mains switch;
  8. When red and green lights are both flashing in synchronisation, release the roll and sheet feed buttons;
  9. Press and hold down the ROLL FEED button (the one at the extreme left) and keep it down until the machine finishes whirring, cleaning etc and the green light comes on steady;
  10. Release the roll feed button and all should be well.

Runs for 20 seconds then standy again

I'm guessing that there is a blinking red light in there somewhere...

If so, it's a overheating problem. Let your PS3 sit for a day and get it away from everything that makes heat, carpet, and atleast 4 inches away from everything in general.

if it escalates to immediately turning off and blinking yellow and then red with 3 beeps, you havbe the Yellow Light of Death. This is a console killer but can be fixed by professionals.

If that happens then remake the question on here saying you have the YLoD.

we had the same issue when we got ours back from repairer...we have extended warranty so sent it back to repairer but then heard it was not fixable. If it is under a year then go to sony - OR buy extended warranty!!!!!

Ours would not boot up at all and only recognised on tv at 520ps when we have a 1080 tv.

Power/Standby light blinks green then screen goes blank (off) for

I have a similar problem. Just found out a possible solution yesterday. I am waiting for my lamp but here's what you need to do if you have replaced your lamp. Go into self diagnostics mode: Switch of your TV via remote, you will see red standy by light. Now,on the remote press "Display"=>"Channel 5"=>"Volume Up"=>"Power Button". All these keys need to be pressed within 3 seconds. You will now enter the diagnostics mode. Press "Jump" on remote (bottom right) 3 times and then press "Channel 2" 9 times. The screen will display your current lamp hours used.

In order to reset your tv to factory settings and for the new bulb to work you must reset this timer or else your TV will assume you are still using the old bulb and will automatically kick in "over protection mode". So here's what you do once you do on the lamp hours display screen. Press the "Channel 3" button on the remote 3 times then "Mute" then "Press Enter" to reset the timer to zero. Your TV should now work as normal. And remember, whenever a part is replaced all factory settings must be reset to zero. To do this, follow "Display"=>"Channel 5"=>"Volume Up"=> "Power Up" to enter service mode. Finally, press "Channel 8" and then "Enter" to put the TV back to factory settings.

The above mentioned is usually performed by a service technician and they charge somewhere around $95 diagnostic fee. You just saved this charge. If you see flashing red lights count them when they flash in sequence. This is a code for the techs to tell them what is wrong. These flashing red lights sequentially flash from 0 to 10 times to identify a problem. Usually, when the bbulb goes bad the only thing that might need to be replaced would be a "lamp Driver" aka "Power Block Assembly" $116.25 online from Sony, or the ballast. Sometimes, if you do not have a video a Thermal FUse can go bad which only costs $4.80 for the KDF60-XS955 but the techs will charge you over $300. You can do this yourself if you can get your hands on a service manual.

Hope this info helps.

Good Luck to you all.
