Steps to find a WEP key:

1. Open a browser (the program used to access the internet).

2. Type the following into the address bar of the browser. If using a Belkin router type "192.168.2.1". The address bar is the area where webpages are typed. It is important when typing in that there is NO www. before the numbers, but do put http://

3. If all has gone well this should open a page that says Belkin.

3. There may be the need to login. When using a Linksys if you don't know what the username and password are it may still be the factory settings, and so enter in "admin" for the username and "password" for the password. If using a Belkin router, the factory settings often come with no password, so just click submit without typing in a password.

4. Click on a) "Wireless" or b) "settings".

5. Click on a) "Wireless security" or b) "wireless settings".

6. There should be a page with a WEP key listed.

7. Write it down/copy and use as you wish!

SOURCE: network key for belkin router

are you referring to the Encryption key - the WEP key?  You need to get that from the person who takes care of the router.  If YOU are the person who administers the router, then you need to reset it to the default factory settings.

SOURCE: Forgot my security password (network key)I need to

Logon to your router from your computer using your browser and going to http://192.168.1.2/. If it wants a username, the default username is blank and the default password is either blank or "password".

The Belkin management tool will come up. From there, go into your security and look to see if your passphrase is visible. If it is, you're good to go. If not, you can change it on that page save it and close out.
Don't forget to change the passphrase on any wireless devices you are using connected to the Belkin wireless router.

  1. Choose a laptop or WiFi device that is currently connected to your network. If none of your devices are connected, use an Ethernet cable and connect a computer or laptop directly to your wireless gateway.
  2. Open a web browser and go to the Admin Tool (http://10.0.0.1) - this is the wireless gateway's administration site. The default settings are:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password (case-sensitive)
      how6361image002.png
    • Note: If you changed your Admin Tool password previously, you will need to use your new login information. If you don't remember your Admin Tool password, you will need to factory reset your wireless gateway. Instructions on how to do this can be found by reviewing the wireless gateway user guides at Wireless Gateway Guides.
  3. On the left navigation menu, select Gateway, then Connection and then Wi-Fi.
    how6361image003.png
  4. Under Private Wi-Fi Network, you'll see the Name (SSID) of your WiFi network. (You may want to write down this information.)
    • Wireless Gateway 1 customers, click EDIT at the right.
    • Wireless Gateway 2 customers, click EDIT for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to view the settings for each. ?

  5. Check the box next to Show Network Password. The Network Password (Network Key) will be displayed above. (You may want to write down this information.)

    • On this page, you can also edit your wireless network information, including changing your Network Name (SSID) or Password (Network Key). If you make any changes, remember to click SAVE SETTINGS.
  6. Now that you have your Network Name (SSID) and Password (Network Key), you can connect your WiFi devices to your network.
  7. If you have changed any information, use the new information to reconnect all your WiFi devices to your network.

Wireless installation

Sorry but i didn't get it, Do you forget the Network Key of your wireless of you forget the login password for your belkin router?

Let me tell you both solutions.

1 If you forget the network key - then you can login to your belkin router and go to the wireless and you will get your network key there.

2 If you forget he login password of your belkin router so just look at the back side of router there must be a reset button which will reset your router and password to the factory date.

hope it will help you :)

Need to locate the Network Security Key for my Belkin F5D7230-4

You won't be able to "locate" it, but you can reset it.

With the router on, press the "Reset" button on the back of the router for AT LEAST 10 seconds, then release. This sets the router back to factory default condition. Pressing the reset for less than 10 seconds only reboots it, and does not reset the configurations.

Use your browser to connect to 192.168.2.1 and you'll get a welcome screen. Click on the "Login" and leave the password window blank. From there you can reconfigure all of your settings including the network security key. Be sure to establish a router access password that is secure.

This link will take you to Belkin's page with the user manual for your router if you misplaced it.

Hope that's helpful.

Need network key for belkin g+ router 802.11g

if you own the router and you don't know the network key or forgot it.
you need to reset your router, please check the intructions that came with it. if you haven't change the admin password (which is by deafult blank) go into the admin page and change or delete the network password doing something similar to this
if you don't have or can't remember the admin password you need to restore the router to defaults to reconfigure it

if you don't own the router and don't know the network key you need to ask the router owner for the key or use a program to hack into the router signal and attempt to figure the key out. (not recommended as it is ilegal)

look on the back of the box and see if there is a reset button. Push that for 10 seconds to reset the router to defaults. You'll reset the password but need to res-etup the router to connect to the internet.

I forgot my password for belkin f5d7231-4

Do you mean the password for the wireless network or the password for the router. If you don't know the wireless network key or the password then you will need to access the router set up and you will find the wireless password there. If you don't know the password to access the router then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router. Click Here for step by step solutions

I lost my network security key, router is not working.

Get the user manual to verify how to make a master reset on your router. There should be a small button inside a very little hole, on the back, that you should press with a pen.

Ok... There are tree things you need to know about securing your WI-FI network.

1: Each computer needs to have "permision" to access your WI-FI network.

42cfdaa.jpg
2: The "Passphrase" and the "Key" are not the same thing. The "Passphrase" doesn't always work. But the "Key" should. (MACs will need the "key")

3: Some WI-FI equipment is "too old" to use 128 bit WEP or WPA.
(I don't think this aplies to your problem)
