Open the unit and inspect for damage and repair as necessary. It does no good to just look at it. Likely something has fallen into the speaker and damage could be worsened if you don't repair it before trying to use it,
OK... You said a jack had fallen in... Now SOME jacks will be isolated fom the metal case... This is sometimes done with a "shoulder washer" that is fiber. That washer could have fallen off and not noticed when you re-installed the jack. Speaker jacks that get grounded by mistake can cause the problem you have, This can also fry the amplifier. I won't go into the circuit details about this but MANY amps require that the barrel of the 1/4 inch type not be tied to the chassis..
MOST of the input jacks are also insulated as above and they can pick up noise as well if shell of connector is grounded to the case.

i have inspected... and i can't see anything wrong.... besides that it's a head... there are no speakers, and i've plugged it into 3 different cabs
