Sounds like you have a blown thermal fuse. This happens when you have a restricted/blocked exhaust vent. Jump/bypass it, if it works make sure to clear exhaust vent or it will blow again.

How do I replace password chip in hp 6730s?

If you mean the hdd password, it is stored within the firmware of the hdd. Bios password is stored in the bios chip. Usually situated next to the uProcessor and has 8 legs. Speak to HP first!

Allot of people make this same mistake. Odds are you got the CHEAP china chips. Those do not work in sony TVS. Only the ORIGINAL sanyos will work. If you payed less then $20 each, they are not original. You can also go to sony.com. Get your board number and check it under parts. IF it says $65 you can get your board rebuilt by sony. Just call in to make payment and get a work order number. I send in allot of these boards. They are returned 2 day fedex express. I guess sony feels bad for selling this junk. Check you cross convergence. If you can move any of the colors, its the chips.

The dvd player posts a message "can not play." I have tried several dvd's and none are playing.

Open the case. Disconnect the ribbons from the main control PCB. Remove the screws holding down the PCB and the rear connectors. Take the board out. Find a chip with the number MR27T1602L or similar - it is called a P2ROM. Run a screwdriver slowly all around this chip to possibly drain erroneous (yea right) data. There is a small chip diagonal to the P2ROM right next to it. I could not read what it was but i suspect it is for temporary data storage - possibly a serial ROM of some sorts. Run the *SMALL* screwdriver around the 8 legs on that chip slowly ensuring that it connects each 2 legs to each other along the way. Now this will either 1) Do Nothing 2) Mess up the chips or 3) Clear out any bad (read factory installed failure timers) data from the chips. Doing this task over a period of about 3 hours seemed to have solved the problem. Now it could have been as simple as disconnecting the ribbons to the board and leaving it sit for a few hours to drain (memory caps to lose charge). I don't know. But I know after doing this my player started working again. Good Luck to all who try.

I'm not familiar with that particular amp but generally, the only transistors that burn are the ones in the power supply. If the adjacent transistors had numbers like IRFZ44, IRF3205 or similar, the burned transistor is likely the same as the ones next to it.

Confirm that the center and right-most leg of the burned transistor and the transistor next to it are directly connected by large traces on the circuit board. Also confirm that the center leg goes to the large windings of the power transformer. If it passes these tests, the transistor is one of the power supply FETs. The numbers on the adjacent (parallel connected) parts will be the same as the burned one.

I believe your CCD chip has gone bad. If all other functions are working, it is definite the chip at fault. Unfortunately, the chip is not available for replacement. Also the repair cost may out weight the replacement cost.

my advice is replace the complete board then you will have no more problem.although 17.00 dollars compare to 264.00 is ridiculous it will cost far less when you multiply big numbers by $17.00.in that you might end up spending more than $264.00
