Its not the actual emjoy that has the problem! Its the cord thats faulty. The cords are substandard and Emjoy relies on these becoming faulty to drive up re-sales! I have already been through two cords

Tips for Waxing - My Guide to Home Hair Removal

Not everybody has the money to spend going to a beauty salon for all their home hair removal needs. For some people it's also just not that comfortable and they feel shy about it.
Whatever the reason, waxing at home is a good option for longer term hair removal, but it takes a bit more planning and knowledge than simply taking a razor into the shower with you.
Check out my tips below for successful home hair removal.

Here are some of my don'ts:
1. Don't wax just after you've been sunbathing or exposed to any other form of excessive heat.
2. Don't go into a bath, hot tub or any other heated water place for a few hours after you've waxed as your skin can get really sore and the pores are more likely to get exposed to bacteria.
3. Don't wax if you are suffering from any kind of allergies or skin condition. Waxing is a super irritant to the skin and you'll only make it worse.
4. Don't start waxing and half way through read the instructions. Make sure you read them BEFORE you get started.
5. Be careful not to burn yourself. Test the temperature of the wax using the inside of your wrist NOT your leg!

Some do's for waxing:
1. Make sure you pull the wax strip off in the right direction. You smooth the wax strip down in the direction of the hair growth and then pull off the strip in the other direction.
2. Pull the wax strip off in one very quick motion. You should make sure that your movement to remove the wax strip is fast as doing it slowly will not only hurt more but also be ineffective.
3.Once you've waxed an area - don't go back to it even if you've missed a bit as this can really damage the skin and cause friction burns and bruising.
4. Use tweezers to remove any stray hairs that didn't come out with the waxing.

My final advice is that you should start with waxing just your legs and see how it goes. Waxing bikini and under arm areas is even more painful and takes a lot of skill. So start with your legs and if you're confident move on and if not, you can always go to a salon for that.
Good Luck

Emjoi light caress epilator jammed

The major reason that epilator shavers stop working is because of hair that is caught inside the machine. If you have taken the top off and cleaned it out thoroughly using the brush, then this likely isn't the cause.
Is it still under warranty? if so, i suggest that you contact the manufacturer and ask where you can send it for fixing. if your warranty has run out, you can still ask the manufacturer for a list of approved repair shops.

Are there any techniques you can recommend for shaving under my arms?

1. First tip is to lift your arm straight above your head as this pulls the skin tight and helps you reach difficult hairs that might be hiding.

2. Shave your arms in up, down and sideways motions for the smoothest results.

3. Finish by rinsing with cold water and this will close your pores.

I have a unibrow ie my eyebrows dont really separate in the middle. What can I do about it?

Tweezers are a good way of shaping and getting eyebrows under control, but if you have a uni-brow then you will need a more long term solution otherwise you could end up plucking your eyebrows every day!

Look into laser treatments or electrolysis for a more long lasting solution.

I am a man and have recently got into the idea of hair removal for myself. Are tweezers an effective way to remove my hair? I am scared about the idea of waxing.

Tweezers are good for small areas that need hair removal such as; eyebrows, nose, knuckles and around the nipple area. But this would be much too time consuming and painful to do on large areas of your skin.

How does electrolysis actually remove hair? I just dont see how it works.

You plug electrolysis machines into the electricity, and then volts of electricity are channeled through the tweezers , which zaps the hair follicle. Usually that follicle is then destroyed and the hair doesn't regrow.

You have to be really careful to follow the instructions carefully in order to avoid skin burn and other injuries.

How do you remove hair from your eyebrows with tweezers?

It's good that you're asking because if you want to pluck your own eyebrows with tweezers, you really need to do your research first so that your don't end up looking really silly.

Take a look at this feature on Oprah's website. It gives a really detailed tutorial about plucking your own eyebrows and what shape to choose etc;

Does tweezing your eyebrow hair cause it to grow back even quicker?

No - pulling hairs out of your eyes with tweezers will not cause the hair to grow back quicker. If anything, over a longer period of time it might shut the hair follicle down as a result of the shock to it. But this takes quite a long time to happen.
