The answer is download this driver from the tech support section in D-Link's websire and either use the AX or BX driver and it will install fine and dandy. Just remember to uninstall the old drivers first and uninstall the network card and start all over from the start. Install the drivers first then shutdown. install DWL 520+ card then restart and it works.

Code 10 means DRIVERS COULD NOT BE INSTALLED. Try installing the drivers manually.

Do this if pc is XP.
1.Keep the wireless adapter connected to the pc
2:Go to control panel, add/remove programs. Remove the wireless adapter software
3:Restart the computer, when the found new hardware wizard shows up click on it, click NO NOT THIS TIME, then select install from a list of specific location. On the next page Click on DON'T SEARCH, I WILL CHOOSE THE DRIVERS TO INSTALL.

4.HIGHLIGHT NETWORK ADAPTERS on the hardware type, the CLICK HAVE DISC

5.Click BROWSE to set the location of your drivers
6.Open the driver folder, then the pc should copy the files.

Good Luck

CODE ERROR 10

Code 10

If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10)Recommended resolutions

Here are some things that you can try to resolve this problem.

Update the driver

In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

Error 10 Am trying to install on refurb desktop Have installed and uninstalled and installed again

Error code 10 in device manager means that the device cannot start. This is due to either the drivers are not updated, or the drivers are not recognized by the Device Manager.

Try the following:
- Uninstall and then reinstall the drivers.
- Make sure you have the updated drivers and the drivers are compatible with the operating system of the computer.
- Try to install the adapter to another computer, just to isolate the issue if this is a problem with the drivers or if it is a compatibility issue with the PC.

Please note: WUSB54GSC v1 drivers can also work with Win 7 using the Win Vista drivers.

Make sure it is in the expansion bay properly, if it is not connected, it might not work. if it still does not work, add a different network or sound card to that bay and see if it works, if not, your PC's expansion bay is damaged, if it does work, you need a different Network card

On my Dell Inspiron 1521: Broadcom Network Adapter Error Code 10

Go to Dell and download the driver from there. The MS driver doesn't actually control the device, only controls function after device is active and working. Look on the bottom or back of the computer for the Dell service tag number, and use this to identify the correct device and get the device drivers. You may also find some other things there that weren't installed by the OS.

Try to update its drivers. Go to the Device Manager.

How to go to Device Manager:

1. Right-click on My Computer on the desktop and then click on Properties. Then click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager button.
2. Double-click on Network Adapter. Double-click on your network adapter to view its properties.
3. Look for the Device Status or any error message. If it says "This device is working properly" then the adapter is properly installed.

Are you running 64 bit Vista?

If so you will need 64 Bit drivers for the device

Download this file

http://www.dynexproducts.com/skins/skin_1/Topics/Drivers/DX-EBUSB_2.03.05_Setup.exe

DO NOT CONNECT THE DEVICE UNTIL IT TELLS YOU

When the windows warning pops up, Install the driver anyway. then connect the device, that should fix the problem It worked on my 64bit Vista Ultimate
