There can be several reasons. One- your outer could have reset to Factory default, and therefore do not sync your DSL connection to the ISP. See if your DSL Username and password are still configured.
Also- the router settings for the DSL sync can be wrong. Check settings like the VPI /VCI, as these are sometimes specific to certain regions.
Best is to look at the settings in the ISP router, write them down, and then configure the Belkin to the same settings.
Good luck

Messed it up need to reset passwords etc how do i do this

Be aware that reseting the router will loose all seetings, username and password to logon to the internet etc.
Hold in the reset button with a paper clip and power off and on the device. Keep the reset button pushed for 10 seconds.

I am unable to reset the default password on my NetGear WGR614 router. I have read all the guides available, which mainly say to hold the reset button for 10 seconds etc, but I am still unable to login...

open browser and type in 192.168.0.1 or perhaps 192.168.1.1 -- when the router displays it will ask for a password. if you had one and can't remember it do a hard reset to return to factory settings. then log into it leaving the username blank with the default factory password. many times that password is admin -- download the owner's manual that will have the default password and instructions and explanations for the settings, including how to do a "hard, factory" reset for free at the manufacturer's website. try the help, support, or download sections. the drivers are there too.

Are you trying to install the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.

First reset the router for 30 seconds. unplug the power to the router. wait for 5 seconds. Plug it back in.

Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router ad the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I would like to reset my DWL-730AP to factory settings. I have tested the solution to keep the reset button for 10 seconds and I would not have worked Someone can help me. Thank you!

Unplug everything from it except for the power supply.
Hold the reset button as you did before. After you release and it resets, plug in the Ethernet cable.

D-Link DI-534 Starting up problems

Try resetting the router . Press the reset button for 10 seconds and after 10 seconds unplug the power cable but continue pressing the reset button for another 30 seconds after 30 seconds plug in back the power cable and continue pressing the reset button for 10 seconds and release it after 10 seconds.

try to open an Internet browser and type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. It should give you the DLink page. Once you have that configure your connection.

Lost internet

There are two things you can try, however if the router has recieved damage caused by a power surge it is probably cheaper to replace it than repair it if the resets don't work.
You can try a reset by unplugging and leaving unplugged for several minutes.
Check the routers configuration settings (especially if you have a static IP address) as a surge in power may have caused an unintentional reset of the device.
Failing that there should be a small pinhole with an indented button on the back which you can press and hold with a pen or paperclip and cause the router to reset to default settings.
Check the configuration again and make sure it is set up correctly for your network and your ISP
If you are having any trouble checking your configuration please tell me the following:
Static IP ?
Are you able to log into the routers homepage?
Are the lights on the router still behaving normally (turn off and on as devices are connected/disconnected)?
Thanks
Hope that helps

Test light

Biggythug,

First, power off your modem.

Using a paper clip, hold the reset button on the back of the router (not the modem) for a full 30 seconds. This will reset the router to default settings. Your issue may run deeper than that so let us know when you get that portion taken care of if it doesn't solve the problem.
