WinFast PVR2000 - recorded video has no sound

I've was using my PVR2000 without problems until I decided to upgrade my machine. I installed a new WinFast K8M890M2MA motherboard and 2GB of RAM. Now my PVR2000 audio and video works fine when I watch TV but when I record a TV program I get video without sound. All the TV shows I recorded before I upgraded still play back fine. Only the new recordings are affected.

Please help,

Neil Cooke

Go with rabbies. Even if you have the right hardware setup sometimes it's best to check software compatabilities and setup with system configurations. Small terms go into audio devices and enable it.

I agree, it must be an Input problem, It may be plugged in to the wrong port, or if you have onboard and a sound card, you need to plug it into the whichever one you have in use. If you installed the sound card and windows is set to use it in the audio settings, then plug it into the card, if its set to the mainboards built in audio, then you need to plug it there. But since you got the sound card u got the sound card you might as well use it and set windows to use the sound card and plug in the audio into there.

Since upgrading your firmware would be the easiest and cheapest method to attempt to fix this issue, I would do that first and see if it helps.

If it's a hardware issue then deciding whether it would be "worth" fixing or not is more up to your preferences and pocketbook than any other consideration really. If the firmware upgrade doesn't fix the issue then I'd get an estimate on doing a hardware fix. You can decide from there whether to just get a new camera or fix the one you have.

Cpu upgrade for Winfast n15235 currently AMD 3600+ 2.0ghz, GSA h40n opitical drive , 750g WD,ROXIO 2009 Cineplayer,Realtek HD audio,nVidia 7200 , Vista occasional stop...

To be quite honest you do not need all that for watching a good quality movie! Your processor is good enough! As long as you got a nice upgrade on your video card and sound! A nice Player and enough Ram you will have great video playback.... I hope this helps you decide.. Good luck to you!

Your VHS recorder has a Coaxe output! So does your card the sound will be replicated there as well, now it would not hurt to get a capture card that has those plugs as you rendering would be much more prestine. Pluag you VHS into the coaxe input on your card set the channel to 3 and you got it bud!!!

No sound

It uses your computer's standard sound card. You should plug the audio output from the TV card into the Line In on your computer's sound hardware.
