Question about Epson Perfection 4990 Flatbed Scanner
I am using the epson perfection 4990. when scanning 120mm film the selected area in preview is not what ends up being scanned. The resulting scan is misaligned to the right and up. i have reset, turned off and restarted many times but this problem is very consistent. the scanner works great for slides and 35mm. that is what is making this problem even more annoying. i bought this scanner after using it at school for a year and loving the results. i mostly shoot 120 film and really need some advice so that this equipment works and isn't just a an expensive paper weight. The 4990 often failed to detect automatically the film. Go manual, take the film zone, don't forget to specify it in the driver (the focus depends on it), and crop manually the picture. The result is perfect because it's yours. In many times, if the result is important to you, forget the automatisms.
