YIKES! Need serious help. A program called "data

Hi there.

Data Recovery is computer optimization program that displays fake critical security errors and reports registry, hard drive problems that do not even exist. You can remove this by going in SAFE MODE.

  • Restart your computer and as soon as your computer turns on hit the F8 key (repeatedly) until a screen comes up
  • Choose Start computer in SAFE MODE with network support
  • Download this free removal tool for Data Recovery
  • Extract it
  • Launch
  • Click on the delete button
Data Recovery will be removed from your system in 10s. Restart your computer when it's finished. This should fix the problem.

Let me know what happens. Thank you!

When I started my Acer Veriton Z290G for the first time it keeps repeating these: "Starting Windows" then "Setup is updating registry settings" then, ...

Windows was not installed correctly or it was corrupted by some dubious program. You will have to reinstall it , ideally using a separate Windows 7 install disk (not the recovery one, if you can find one) and using the key from the label on the bottom.

The file may be corrupt. Try a different file to verify this. There are utilities out there that can sometimes repair these damaged files.

I want to downgrade ACER ASPIRE M5641 desktop form vista to XP. What steps to follow? Also I have only the backup CD which I made right after the purchase , originally installed with VISTA. Understand it...

You'll have to purchase the XP software, set your computer to boot from cd (in the cmos settings), put the disk in the cd and restart you computer. When the screen comes up to "...hit any key to boot from cd" hit any key. The system will boot to the XP cd and will allow you to delete the old partition, reformat your drive, and install XP. Next go to www.acer.com and download your drivers. Finally install your programs and data on to your hard drive. Have fun!

NOTE: Make absolutely sure that you backup the programs and data that you want to keep before starting the XP install!

I cannot get online unless I restart the computer, then when I switch it off I have to go through the same routine to get on line again. Virgin say it is not a fault with the server.

though i need to know the os platform u r using..

however, this is quite common n critical problem of a trojan/ malware..it stops the 'server' and many more windows service(s), which also disables n hangs internet connection n disconnect option..ethernet n etc..itz not the problem with isp..

the Software part:..
1) open->start menu->run->type 'services.msc'->click run/ok->windows service will open->enable the services->by right click->properties->on 'startup type'->select Automatic from drop down menu->next click on the Recovery tab->then on the First, Second & Subsequent Failure->select change the value from Take no Action to Restart the Service->now set the Reset Fail Counter after: 0 Days and Restart Service after: 1 mins:..
Server, Computer Browser, Remote Registry, Secondary Logon, Windows Time, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), DNS Client, DHCP Client, COM+ Event System, HTTP SSL, Network Connections, Network Location Awarness (NLA)..

2)hva licensed and UPDATED antivirus installed (i prefer avg/kaspersky,remember, without updation a full version antivirus is useless)..

3) download, install n run microsoft kb890830..http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en..

4) download n run Startup Control Panel..http://download.cnet.com/Startup-Control-Panel/3000-2094_4-10039330.html..'removeallthe unnecessary startup items from here..(if u can't find what toremove, post me/us in ur comment with all the items listed in each nevery tabs herein)..

5) remove all unnecessary software from add/remove programs..

6) download, install n run 'Advanced System Care Pro'..http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Pro/3000-2086_4-10399324.html..

7)disable the following:..
a)'AutomaticallyRestart' right click onmy computer->properties->advanced->startup nrecovery->(un check on the) Automatically Restart;
b)'ErrorReporting' right click on mycomputer->properties->advanced->errorreporting->disable error reporting->(uncheck on the) 'but notifyme when critical error occur'..

8) Increase the size of Virtual Memory, Initial: 1440; Maximum: 2880

9) if problem persists try reinstalling os..

if u r not a professional, always better to seek advise from ur system admin/vendor....

URGENT CALL:- Critical Error that keeps restarting system?

Definately not a "major issue"... it is a Software issue rather than a Hardware issue...
And most likely a conflict with your ActiveX controls...

Try This....
Go to Start...Programs......Windows Update..enable if disabled.. and it will search for updates and hopefully install the SP1 update...
This update download apparently has patches for the exact error you have and that is a typical Vista "hiccup" error....

try that, if it doesnt help still, we can go from there..
