Hi stop buying parts till you do a couple of checks.
The problem is either Spark or fuel.
We are going old school here.
1. Remove a plug wire from spark plug, with a gloved hand or insulated pliers stick the old spark plug or stick a phillips screwdriver about the same size as the top of a spark plug into the wire
2. hold the bottom of the plug or screwdriver about 1/4 inch from metal on engine block anywhere. Have someone try to start it and watch for a good spark to shoot across the 1/4 inch opening. If so you have spark.
3. Fuel D/C a fuel line somewhere on the fuel rail.
Put a rag over the end and have someone give a SHORT crank . Rag covered in fuel it's OK.
Once you find out if it's spark or fuel the you can troubleshoot the right system.
You will need a 3/8" drive ratchet with a 5/8" spark plug socket. There is no distributor on these engines so you won't require a dist. cap. You will want to change spark plugs, ignition wires, air filter, fuel filter and pcv valve. There are no other adjustments.
(THERE,S NUMBEROUS WAYS WHY IT WILL NOT CRANK ) NO1 CHECK TO SEE IF IT,S GETTING GAS , THERE,S A PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE LOOKS LIKE A TIRE STEAM WITH A BLACK CAP ON IT PRESS IT IN WITH PHILLIP SCREW DRIVER AND IF THE GAS SHOOT OUT IT,S GETTING GAS ) NO.2 TAKE A OLD SPARK PLUG ,DISCONNECT ONE OF YOUR SPARK WIRES AND CONNECT TO THE LOOSE SPARK AND TURN THE CAR OVER TO SEE IF IT,S GETTING FIRE ,AND IF IT,S NOT GETTING FIRE TO THE PLUGS IT,S YOUR CRANK POSTION SENSOR ,AND IF IT,S GETTING FIRE TO THE PLUGS . TAKE A TEST LIGHT WITH THE SWITCH TURN TO ON AND IF IT LIGHTS UP THAT MEAN THE CRANK POSTION SENOR IS WORKING ,BUT IF YOU ARE GETTING FIRE FROM ALL OVER THERE,S ONE THING TO CHECK AND THATS YOUR DISTRUBATOR ,STICK THE TEST LIGHT IN WHERE ONE OF THE SPARK WIRES ARE AT AND IF IT LIGHT,S UP THE DISTRUBATOR IS BAD ,AND JUST REPLACE IT ,OR CHECK FOR YOUR FUSE RELAY TO YOUR FUEL PUMP AND THAT SHOULD DO IT
Your distruber cap may need to be replace or re-aligned if your not getting spark. I would have someone check for spark. All this takes is a muti-meter or removing one spark plug and then plug back in and place the other end of plug to the engin to ground it. Then while trying to start have someone look at the plug to see if it sparks!
Good Luck!
Hope this helps!!
check this first...find a hose that goes to the throttle body, like a vaccum hose...spray some carb cleaner in it . put hose back on it..start vehicle and see if it hits ..if it does it is fuel related, if not it is spark related...easy diagnostic...in cranking mode unsrew gas cap and listen for the fuel pump running while cranking...get someone to assist if possible...let me know...
Could be gas related, could be ignition spark related. you will have to troubleshoot to find if spark is at plugs in the right time and sequence. also, you will need to know if you are getting fuel to your cylinders. Can't help anymore without being there first hand.
