Won't turn on and flashes red 3 times

While watching picture turned purple and then turned itself off. When I try to turn back on it clicks on but then turns right back off and then the light in front blinks 3 times. It also has a burnt smell coming from the back. What is wrong?
TIA for any help

Red power light flashes three times when attempting to power up.

The TV was operating perfectly on last use.

How much for repairs by a service tech? Is it possible to do without extensive electronics skills?

I had the same problem with my 53wx53 and fixed it by replacing the convergence ICs, STK392-110, and a burnt resistor 2.2ohm 2w, total cost about $40.

How to fix your gas furnice

most gas furneses have a red light on circuit board wich is located on intake. turn heater off then have someone turn it back on while you watch the circuit board. count the # of times the red light flashes before it pauses. it will flash in a cycle. for instance it flashe 3 times then pauses for 5 secounds then flashes 3 times again on and on. look on the back of the panel cover, their will be a diagram, in the diagram their will be dianostic report that will include what that # of flashing red light and what it means. for examle 3 flashing red lights ps stuck open. that means pressure switch stuck open. replace the part and your back up and running.

Heard a pop , bulb blew out , replaced bulb , it worked for two days , now red light blinks three times pauses then three times and so on , tv won't turn off light won't turn off unless I unplug...

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

A red lightning arrow keeps flashing on the screen and the camera isn't doin anything, what can the problem be?

Hi.

A red flashing lightening bolt can mean different things on different camera's. The most common are that you are too far away from the object you want to take a picture of. That the flash on the camera needs to be turned off and that the flash itself is charging up and won't allow a picture to be taken.

Try turning the flash off and see if it will let you take a picture.

Regards.

Panasonic PT-53TWD63, TV will not turn on, Red power light blinks

It is most deffinately a convergence chip issue. The die for no reason. They can be bought online for around $10 dollars and anyone with experience with soldering can replace them pretty easily. I have done it.

So far you have done all you can and you have done everything right. The fact that the TV turned off by itself and then turned back on by itself suggests that one or more solder joints have come loose inside the set. A qualified tech should find this easy to fix, and Sony sets are always worth repairing, so it is now time to have the set serviced by a tech experienced in Sony standard sets.

Has anyone had problems with connecting an 'HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF + RCA L / R Audio Extractor Converter (HDMI input,HDMI+ Audio output)' to a Panasonic PT-53TW53? I have a TiVo Premiere hooked up to my Panasonic PT-53TW53. I use the HDMI out, and RCA R+L outputs on the TiVo, and hook up to the digital in connections on the TV. The conversion of the HDMI out is via an HDMI to DVI cable. This has worked perfectly for years, but recently I wanted to disconnect the TiVo and replace with my Roku or Amazon Fire TV. Both have a single HDMI output. So I purchased an AGPtek HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF + RCA L / R Audio Extractor Converter (HDMI input, HDMI+ Audio output) box, hooking up the HDMI output from the Roku or Fire TV to the input on the extractor/converter, and simply disconnecting the HDMI to DVI and RCA R+L outputs from the TiVo, and plugging them into the outputs on the converter/extractor. The converter/extractor has a 3 position switch: PASS, 2CH audio, or 5.1CH (via and SPDIF or Toslink cable). I have had 2 of these converter/extractors, and with both the Roku and Fire TV I got the same results with both converter/extractors: With the switch on 2CH, which is where I understand I should get HDMI video and 2CH RCA audio, all I get is the RCA audio. No video. If I switch to PASS I get video with no audio. Of course on the 5.1 setting I get nothing, since the TV does not support SPDIF. Yet I see reviews all over Amazon indicating folks are using this converter/extractor for this very purpose, and it is working fine. I can't possibly imagine that it is some sort of incompatibility issue with the TV, since the TiVo has worked (and continues to) fine for years. Any ideas?
