Question about Envision EN-9250 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

3 Answers

No power to monitor.

Monitor will not come on at all. No green light... nothing. Pushing power switch repeatedly does nothing. Have replaced power cord... no change. Is there a fuse in there somewhere?

The problem can be solved by replacing the power supply board. Only problem is finding the part.

Hello mousemilk,

The monitor itself is defective and can be either:

1) Replaced under warranty

-OR-

2) Repaired at a local shop. If this is the case and you are NOT under warranty - the best solution is to buy a new monitor.

Take care!

My lcd screen switch goes green and a message appears "going to sleep" and the switch light goes yellow

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor needs replaced.

The Dell AS 501 monitor display comes and goes off in seconds. If I switch off and on again, the display comes back and goes off again in less than a second. I repeat this as many times the same monitor...

This sounds like the power inverter is failed.. It's what pumps up the power for the light in the monitor.
You could try unplug the sound bar from the back of monitor if you have the sound bar installed. Just a maybe..
To fix the inverter (replace) is usually better to buy newmonitor unless you do it your self.
The defective LCD Backlight inverter will cause the following symptoms:
  • No Display, but Power Indicate light stay on green (Or Blue).
  • Screen flash on and off and the power indicate light stays on green (or Blue).
  • Dim Display

Hi, when connected to a portable you sometime must hold function key then press F5 or F6 to switch between the portable screen and the aux monitor, have you tried the monitor with another computer. If this does not work, it might require internal repairs...

Dell 17" Monitor - Won't display anything, power light flashes

Akeru, It may or may not show up again. My guess is that it will. This seems like a power supply/inverter/CCF tube issue. The lamps try to fire up but due to a possible fault in the Switch-Mode-Power-Supply and or the Inverter circuit the SMPS goes into shutdown and does a self reset after 5 seconds. And then repeats the whole cycle again. Well if the unit is over 5years old you can do several things. 1. See if DELL can do a swapout. Send your's+$40-$90 to them. They send you a same model REFURBISHED (new CCF tubes/inverter/smps) and a short 30day min warranty. 2. You can locate a electronics repair shop ( TV/VCR/DVD/Monitor) that knows all about cold cathode fluorescent tubes and their power source, Inverter type. 3. Try to effect repair on your own. That's about all the options that a consumer/user has open to them. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aim.com Bye for now.

The power supply section may be failed, or there may be a short on one of the boards causing the monitor to cycle through the protect mode.

Try another power adaptor. Check the delivered voltage and go get a universal power adaptor that has a switched for varios voltages and a number of connectors. Simply match connector to the voltage switch.
