Question about Altec Lansing AVS 300 Computer Speakers
I have Altec Lansing AS300 speakers. The problem i have is with the ON?OFF switch not functioning. The switch is on the right speaker. If i hold the on/off switch down the speaker works. I do not see any screws etc to open the speaker. Any suggestions.
I had to break it to get the satellite speaker open. once it was open, i looked to see if there was a simpler way i could have do it. much to my suprise- no, there wasn't. it seems the plastic is melted together. what i did to open it was use a fairly sharp flathead screwdriver and a hammer. it took me about an hour. ironically, my speaker looks like garbage now, but plays great (as opposed to it looking decenct and not playing, thus making it actually garbage).

First things first!
1) you can RMS if warranty is there, uset, change your Spks!
2) you can open the speakers and change the power on SW, for another on Radio Shack there is a lot of them. But carefully on the welding.
