The Belkin website only has the update, not the xp driver . They said to install from the cd. Bought this cable on ebay and it came with no cd. The seller only gave the lame excuse that they have never had this problem before.

Go to Belkin's support site here: http://catalog.belkin.com/support/?lid=en, then navigate to the cable that you have and download the drivers to your hard drive. Then when the found hardware wizard comes up next you can select to install the driver from a location you'll choose (point it to wherever you downloaded them to on your hard drive). XP SP2 should have picked it up, but if your running Vista you may need Vista specific driver (should be at the Belkin support site linked above).
Good luck.

My leptop acer 4720zg physical dumping error

1) Examine the “System” and “Application” logs in Event Viewer for other recent errors that might give further clues. To do this, launch > Eventvwr.msc from a Run box; or open “Administrative Tools” in the Control Panel then launch Event Viewer.

2) If you’ve recently added new hardware, remove it and retest.

3) Run hardware diagnostics supplied by the manufacturer.

4) Make sure device drivers and system BIOS are up-to-date.

5) However, if you’ve installed new drivers just before the problem appeared, try rolling them back to the older ones.
6) Open the box and make sure all hardware is correctly installed, well seated, and solidly connected.

7)Confirm that all of your hardware is on the Hardware Compatibility List.

8)Check for viruses.

9)Investigate recently added software.

10)Examine (and try disabling) BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

No installer software. can I install anyway?

You didn't say what you're trying to install. Many hardware products are plug-and-play. If it has a USB cable, just plug it into the computer, and chances are that you'll see a "new hardware found icon." At that point the computer may recognize and install the hardware, or you may need to reboot to get things going. With some products you may be prompted to locate software on the internet. Not a complicated process in any of the above, but there are a lot of variables depending on what it is that you're installing.

Acer Extensa 5420 crystal eye webcam not activated

you have to install the driver for it ...if it isnt already installed...and if you do not see it into the hardware list is maybe cause its either not installed and or ...deactivated ...
you can find it ...by runnung add new hardware wizard from control pannel ...and choose the already attached but not yet installed...and you will find it ...the only issue if it is a buyilt in cam ...it might need t reactivate it ...and the easy way to do it is to restore the bios setings to the optimal defaults ..( F9 and save F10)...tjhis will encurage ..your computer to see all devices that are atached but not yet installed...
first install the driver and see after thyat if it sees it auto ..or you will have to run the add new hardware wizzard.. Good luck !

Hi,

Code 28
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Recommended resolution
Install the driver

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to install the driver.

Code 39
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Cause

There are several causes of Code 39 errors:
  • A required device driver is missing.
  • A required binary file is corrupted.
  • There is a problem with the file I/O process.
  • A driver that is referencing an entry point in another binary file is unable to load.
Recommended resolution

Reinstall the drivers for this device.

Uninstall and reinstall the driver

Uninstall the driver from Device Manager, and then scan for new hardware to install the driver again.

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
  1. On the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. Follow the instructions.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Open Device Manager, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes. Follow the instructions.
Thanks

Problem installing OS

I think Partition Magic 8 screwed up the hard drive. I suggest, try a different hd, or if you don't have one, go to www.ebay.com and get like a 5 or 10GB hd and try that, cause if it works with a different hd, it proves that Partition Magic 8 screwed up the drive. Anything else, try a new IDE or SATA cable cause sometimes they go bad. try a different OS cd. Anything else I could say is bring it to a local computer store and see what they can do.
