Question about Peavey PVM 22 Microphone

1 Answer

No sound I can not get my PVM-22 to amplify my voice unless I am holding where the cable enters the PA and where it enters the microphone, respectively. It's like I need to make the current go through myself to get any sound... Also, I have a XLR to High Impedence microphone cable, if that's useful information.

If you unscrew the headshell you could test the resistance of the coil with a multimeter to see if the coil has gone.

You haven't sufficiently defined what is wrong. "Not good" is subjective. Before you shell out for different hardware you should pinpoint the problem.

The source (you, mics) and the speakers are the most obvious sources of sound quality issues. Properly functioning amplifiers operated within their limits produce effectively undetectable differences in the sound.

Feedback from the speakers to the mics will sound awful.

You have a bad microphone. There is most likely a broken wire in the microphone jack.

Without a microphone the radio will not go into receive mode, at all. Same thing happens when there is a disconnected wire in the mic cord. Because the radio you have, has Talkback in it, you can always hear a little audio coming through, but not a lot.

Try a new mic or one you know is good.

Got a knock now it wont work

hopefully the sensor in the mic is not damaged. if it is a new mic will be needed. I would sat that you may have broken a solder connection inside the unit and you will have to take it apart to see where the problem is. hope this helps.

How can I connect my P.A. system to pur phone system? cheaply easy Phone is NEAX PBX P.A. system is basic pre-amp output (analog)

This is very tricky unless your phone system has an analog audio line input provision. It's almost impossible to introduce external audio ( from your P.A. system ) into the phone system when a phone is on hold unless the PBX system has an external audio line input. If it does, all you need is a standard 600 ohm to 600 ohm audio transformer where you connect your P.A. systems preamp signal out to one side of the transformer and the other side of the transformer to your PBX systems external audio ON-HOLD line input.

My AKG Perception 200 Cut the signal suddenly

Sounds like a loose connection. Try duct taping the microphone cable in place where it enters the microphone.

Doesn't pick-up sound

First I'd check the cable and make sure it's alright. Try another cable you know is good. If it still has low output unfortunately, it's probably the capsule. If the mic is new I'd send it in for warranty repair if not contact samson @ their website for repair info.
