I sent my xbox for repair (rrod). That has been fixed but my ingame resolution seems to be at it's lowest. Im sure the image looked better before. How do I change it? Already looked at the system settings.

If you get the RROD or E74 and it's the console isn't been modded or tampered and hasn't been open and still in warrenty send it off to Microsoft for repair
Hey, when you do the towel trick, you'll destroy it for good. The next time it overheats, you're gonna be screwed. Almost anything you want done to your xbox (including case modz, firmware updates, and rrod repair) can be done by the 360 repair guy at http://360modz.net/ . Just thought I'd let you know. He fixed mine for $40 and I sent my friends there AND I eventually called him again and got firmware updates... Seriously, go to http://360modz.net/.
that dude above is wrong ... dont listen 2 him.. im not sure wat ur prob is but its certinly not rrod... if ur in the uk call Microsoft at: 02073659792 and ur all gd !!
does your x box dash come on if not then this could be the problem and solution:
e74 or rrod error means that there is an hardware issue.
What you need to do is a very simple and cheap repair.
look on ebay for x clamp repair kits, these are just a few bucks and most sellers include a good guide in how to do the mod/fix.
what causes the rrod or e74 error is the X shape clamp on the underside or the mother board bending and mis-shaping causing the ball soldering on the gpu/cpu slightly melting and forming hairline cracks in the solder.
The x-clamp kit will apply more pressure to the gpu/cpu and a little trick of disconnecting the fans and turning on the xbox and allowing it to overheat will re melt the solder ball joints to fill the hairline cracks.
Depending on which chip is the issue you may also need a 2000 watt heat gun instead of using the over heating method (the gpu chip).
Replacing the heat pads on the heat sink with thermal paste which comes with the kit will keep the gpu/cpu cooler and you wont have this issue again.
Please make sure you buy the kit which comes with heat treated nylon washers as the steel spring washes fail!.
The repair takes around 1-2 hours
I hope this helps in fixing you xbox.
Bewarned that opening your console voids any warranty on it, i would recommend contacting microsoft to see if it is still under warrenty as this could be a free fix by them
If xbox dash comes on and it wont play games it could be as simple as a dirt dvd drive and lens
no they dont and they will fix it anyways i sent mine off they fix disk drive bout 1yr later i sent it off agen and they replaced the dvd drive they put in and motherboard they did the work on it so they have to fix it as the 1 yr warranty is renewed as soon as you send it off to them
You are getting the rrod because of a 'fault' with the motherboard. the color of the power supply shows if something is 'active' (green) on it or on 'stand by' (yellow). What 'fixing' were you doing?
