Because the paper size of your software like Word is "custom", and the paper size setting of the printer is "ltr", the printer won't print until you change the paper size to "freesize". Change it in "Additional Functions" menu on the printer (Canon D340). (Word will change the paper size setting automatically if you adjust the margins of your paper too far)

Have you looked at the toner in it now for a model/part number? Have you checked the owner's manual in the list of consumables? That is where they will list it.

A simple Google search of PC-D340 toner brought up many results, showing S35 as the toner for it. Here's a listing on Amazon for around $30 for one

That means that you have laser unit related error.Probablly bad laser controller pcb.
