Reset password garmin 660 - Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS Receiver

If you forget the PIN or password unlock code to unlock the Garmin unit, the best solution is to bring it to Garmin to get unlocked.

Reset the nuvi 660:

1 Disconnect from external power.

2 Flip antenna up.

3 Locate and press small button labeled "RESET" in the antenna recess on rear of nuvi 660.

4 Connect to external power source.

If you have preformed all the above then the GPS receiver in your unit is probably dead and you should take the replacement from garmin as the 660 is an older unit and probably out of warranty.

If you can't find a password, then take battery OUT & Reset the unit. Now re-program it again.

You have three options for unlocking a PIN locked Garmin:

1 - Enter the correct PIN
2 - Take the unit to the location at which the PIN was entered
3 - Send the unit back to Garmin

Unfortunately, these are your only options as this is a security feature to prevent unauthorized use of a stolen GPS

Take it back to the security location you set, and it will automatically unlock, then reset the password.

When you set up your password you had to also set up your secret place. Take it to your secret place and reset the password.

There should be a small pinhole for a reset button. Press and hold this reset button for 60 seconds. Then turn the device back on.

Unfortunately, even if you perform master reset on Garmin GPS unit, it does not reset Garmin Lock security feature, which password-protect most Garmin electronic devices to deter theft. If you forget the PIN or password unlock code to unlock the Garmin unit, the best solution is to bring it to Garmin to get unlocked. “Secure Location” does not unlock a locked Garmin unit either as it’s only a temporary fix as when it’s turn on outside the security location, the device is locked again."

So unfortunately, there is only one option: You have to send your nüvi into the Garmin, who can unlock it. Remember original receipt.
